When Dusty and previous adminstrations talked about "respect" for Griffey, I think they meant to say, "fear". As in, "we're afraid to disuss ___________ with Jr".

You can fill in the blank with fear of moving him to RF, moving him to 1st, moving him deaper in the lineup.

All of a sudden all of the conventional thinking about not being able to do X is proving to be a paper tiger.
