Patterson should bat behind Volquez. Not because I like the LaRussa strategy but because Patterson cant hit.

If we plan on Bruce being the #3 hitter for his career, I wish Dusty would just leave him there...not hitting him 3rd one day and 7th the next.

And any lineup with Patterson in it is destined to fail. He has one of the most horrific approaches and swings in recent memory.

Where's Dickerson? Where's Hanigan?

Why in the hell are we bothering to play Corey? Does 7 years in MLB not show us that the guy is not a MLB hitter? It does for me.

Yeah, I liked what Jim Kelch said on Lance's show today. He said Dickerson is a major league 5-tool player IF he can cut down on the K's. Also said Hanigan has improved tremendously since last year, has a cannon of an arm throwing out runners, has improved calling his game, and is a much better contact hitter than either Bako or Ross........said he is major league ready.

Kelch did say he thought they'd been protecting Roenicke's numbers, which made me wonder if that meant he was trade bait, and Reds management didn't have much confidence in him. Kelch said Roenicke never comes in with men on base and usually starts an inning. Said just because he threw hard, didn't mean he had all the tools to pitch in the majors right now.

Interesting stuff.

Bring up Dickerson and Hanigan. Or atleast Hanigan.

How can anyone in their right mind condone playing Patterson? This is sickening.

Look at Bruce's number so far against lefties. It warranted him being moved down in the lineup last night Bruce himself even said that. If Patterson could hit at a decent .250 clip he'd be tolerable cause the guy can cover some ground in the outfield.
