Not overly surprising considering the Royals dropped him from AA to A+. He should be putting up solid numbers at that level.

Strait should join Jerry Gil.

Funny what being a 25 year old in A+ ball can do for a guy. The guy has been in the majors since most of his competition was in high school...

I think the difference is that he is getting a chance to play everyday.
He didn't have that chance this year. It's hard to put up good numbers
when you are only playing part of the time. Sometimes it takes some guy's
longer to figure it out than others.

When did Strait go to the Royals? I must have missed that.

When did Strait go to the Royals? I must have missed that.

The Chattanooga newspaper reported it on July 2nd

Strait was traded to the Kansas City Royals organization for a player to be named later. He was assigned to Wilmington (High-A) of the Carolina League.

I haven't researched it further, but it doesn't look like the PTBNL has been sent yet.

I've always liked Strait and am glad to see he's doing well. I agree his success probably has a lot to do with getting to play every day and maybe also with the gradual recovery from the terrible beaning last year. The kid has a lot of guts.
