Man accused of trying to cash check for $360,000,000,000

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

From Staff Reports

A man has been accused of attempting to pass a $360 billion check, which he claims was given to him by his girlfriend’s mother to start a record business, Fort Worth police said.

Charles Ray Fuller, 21, of Crowley, was arrested on April 22 on an accusation of forgery, police said.

Police responded to a report of a man attempting to pass the check about 4 p.m. that day at the Chase bank in the 8600 block of South Hulen Street, Fort Worth police Lt. Paul Henderson said.

The personal check was not made out to Mr. Fuller and when the bank contacted the check owner, the woman said she did not write a check for $360 billion.

Mr. Fuller was also accused of unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marijuana, Lt. Henderson said. He may also face a theft charge in Crowley.

Lt. Henderson said he did not know if Mr. Fuller and his girlfriend were still together.

Boy, oh boy would I love to hear how that conversation with the bank teller went. I don't know, maybe Steel can give it to us.

It reminds me of the old Bob & Ray routine about the bank teller whose paycheck was made out wrong, for millions and millions of dollars and the bank is pleading with her not to cash it because it will ruin them, etc.

Darwin Award nominee - walk into a bank and try to cash a multi-billion dollar personal check from your girlfriend with a firearm and marijuana on you.

Nice! The guy's just begging to be put in jail.

I liked the last line:

"Lt. Henderson said he did not know if Mr. Fuller and his girlfriend were still together.'

Since it was his girlfriend's mom, I'm kind of doubting those 2 crazy kids are gonna stay together.

I know it's surprising, but I don't think he did.

This reminds me of a joke I heard the other day....

Man walks into a bank and robs it.

On his way out of the bank, the robber says to a guy on the ground "Did you see me rob the bank?" Guy answers "Yes". Robber shoots the guy.

Robber says to another guy on the ground "Did you see me rob the bank?" Guy answers "No, but my wife did."

I am shocked SHOCKED that he had marijuana on his person. SHOCKED!!!!

I hear a dime bag of pot is really expensive nowadays.

Maybe this was an ingenious way, by the GF's mother, to finally put an end to her daughter's relationship with this pothead?.... "Here's a check for 36 billion. Run down to the store and get me a 2 liter of Mountain Dew and a case of Hostess Ho-Hos, and keep the change!" :p:

I know I shouldn't be thinking this far ahead...but why start a record company when you have 360 billion? Shouldn't you be buying an island and starting your own country?

Yeah, get it straight, GAC. If it had been 36 million like you said, it might have worked.

I received a 6/29/2007 earning statement for the amount of $59,796.78

(I know that's chump change for most of you guys...wrong decimal point in the "hours worked" column...and yes, it was direct-deposited into my checking account...fortunately, payroll "corrected" it before I got audited)

I also have an uncashed money order from some guy in Nigeria...but hey, who doesn't?

And a firearm to boot.

That's extra style points right there.

Plus another couple years mandatory time on the firearm specification for the indictment. :D

Did dude even bring a bag to carry it all in? Did he think ahead at all?

Why would he need a bag? He figured they'd just give him three 120 billion dollar bills.

Pretty stupid huh? Me? I would have been a lot smarter and instead opened up an account there and got the free toaster.
