He's in elite company. Here's some info off of ORG:
The last 10 players to hit 21 or more HR at age 21 or younger?
Jay Bruce - 2008
Miguel Cabrera - 2004
Albert Pujols - 2001
Andruw Jones - 1998
Alex Rodriguez -1996
Ken Griffey JR - 1990, 1991
Juan Gonzalez - 1991
Ruben Sierra - 1987
Daryl Strawberry - 1983
Cal Ripken Jr - 1982
All of them had 545 at bats or more except for Daryl Strawberry who had 420 that year. Thats some pretty elite company Mr Bruce.

Wow! What a list. But, Bruce isn't a homerun hitter, right? :D

He has hit 31 this year total. Very impressive.

I am very much hoping he can make a run at 40 next season in this stadium. I think it all depends how much talent is around him in the lineup so he gets pitches to hit.

I think the key is that Votto and Bruce have now shown they can carry the power load in the shadow of the loss of Dunn.

I haven't been this excited as a Reds fan about a young group of players (Cueto, Volquez, Castillo, Votto, Burton, etc.) in 20 years of following the team.
I haven't been this excited about a single young player in my entire life (Bruce).
I haven't followed the Reds this closely, late in the season either. If I wasn't so sick I'd be down at the ballpark weekly to see these guys play.....

Dunn at 21 - 19 HRs in 244 ABs - .949 OPS (never duplicated again)
Bruce at 21 - 21 HRs in 388 ABs - substantially less than .949 OPS (let's hope he does better)
Dunn was a stud at 21. He was never rated as highly as Bruce, but make no mistake, he had unlimited potential. 7 years later all this is forgotten as Bruce is the prospect of a lifetime. Let's hope he is.

Although he has 10 errors, Bruce will be the far better defensive player vs. Dunn.

Good to see the kid hitting the ball hard...
lets not forget that Dunn was called up in Aug and still had 19 in 2001..

Let's not forget that it was still the steroid era and juiced ball era, too. ;)

I was able to go to one game this year, and it was just about a week after he got called up. At home against Atlanta, it was great!!
