Browns or Bengals?

Who ya got?

Mark me down, unfortunately, for the Browns.

The Bengals will get their first win of the year. Although a loss, last week showed the team they can play with the big boys, and that confidence will carry over to this week.

All the injuries and quarterback talk are distractions for this young Browns team, and they will lose, let's say... 30-17

I'm afraid Derek Anderson will look like an all star when he has time to throw and Kellen Winslow remember's he's a soldier.

35-24 Brownies

Bengals, but not by much. Both will play like crap, par for the course.

This game is more like the battle of the basement dwellers.

If it was in CLE...the Browns.

If the bengals look good winning I will be more confident for the rest of the year....if it's close....then it's just a way to avoid 0 and 16.....in route to 3-13 season.

Bengals win. They may have only played one game this year that wasn't horrific, but that's still one more than the Browns.

The Bengals will blow out the Browns tomorrow giving some ignorant Bengal fans false hope the season will turn around.

Bengals over the Browns 38-24.

The season is still over, however.

The loser is likely looking at a top 5 pick and should begin their search for their next head coach.

The Bengals offensive line is a shadow of itself. Chris Perry is playing fairly well, but he doesn't wear down defenders. With defenses showing little fear of a running game, more pressure is placed upon the quarterback and offensive line. Look for the Bengals to use the dump down pass to keep the Browns defense in check.

Browns are still fighting some key injuries. Steinbach is not playing, and WR Donte Stallworth (who would be a huge help) is still doubtful. When the Browns defense is attacking with aggression, they look like a very formidable defense. When they sit back waiting for the opposition to make a mistake, they end up looking like a mistake. Against the Bengals, you have to bring pressure. If you allow Palmer and his weapons to gain confidence, they will turn this one into a shootout.

The Brown's Shaun Rodgers continues to play at a high level and he could be the difference in this one despite playing with an injured shoulder. Rodgers is a tremendous mismatch against Bengals C Kevin Cook. Shaun could find himself in the backfield throughout this contest.

The Bengal's defensive secondary is somewhat banged up... maybe that will help butterfingers Edwards. ;)

The difference in this game?

If the Browns find their offense then they will win this game. But right now that is a huge question mark.

Last year we had a QB controversy when the Browns traded away Frye and supplanted him with Anderson. many maligned Anderson who found his groove when? During that first Brown-Bengal matchup.

Deja Vu?

We'll see.

But Quinn has been practicing with the first team this week. If Anderson struggles then you'll see Quinn.

Right now Brown fans are calling for Crennel's head. He's playing for his job.

So your Bengals might do us Brown fans a favor tomorrow. ;)

Geez!

Wright just makes an athletic INT and then, on the run back, doesn't protect the ball and gives it back to the Bengals for a nice net gain. ;)

These two teams are just simply laughable.

And what is interesting - whoever wins, tommorrow we'll be hearing how this win is a momentum builder. To where?

Scratch that...I feel worry that this game is even on TV for anyone to watch. Yikes.

Being a diehard Browns fan all my life, this is just getting downright offensive to watch.

It pains me to say this, but I'm almost to the point where I wouldn't mind seeing a few more losses if it means getting Romeo canned. I'd even take Butch Davis back over this guy. Why he got an extension is mindboggling.

This game is just an embarrassment to the state of Ohio and the NFL. At least I still have the Buckeyes to root for.

Sigh.

Marvin Lewis is not an NFL head coach. He may be a great coordinator, but that is where the Peter Principle takes over. A whole slew of competent coordinators have not been able to take that final step. Lewis joins that rank. This team is headed in the wrong direction. Marvin Lewis has to go.

1-15, who are we actually going to beat?

Hopefully this puts the "lets start Ryan Fitpatrick instead of Carson because he's more mobile" theory to rest...

and Chris Perry needs to invest in stickum or something, 4 fumbles in 4 games...that's pathetic

I'm starting to agree that Marvin has lost it with this team (a lot of it outside of his control). But are you confident in the ability of Mikey boy to hire a competent NFL head coach to take his place and supply him with adequate NFL players? I'm not. Marvin may be as good as it gets...

By my math the Bengals have lost to a pathetic Ravens team, and now a pathetic Browns team. Therefore the Bengals are pathetic. The Browns were perhaps even worse than the Ravens opening week.

Hopefully, this will give those out there complaining about Carson Palmer a vision of the future without him. If they are smart, they will shut up.

This was a game the Bengals win if they had Palmer available.
Instead we got to see Fitzpatrick miss some one on one match ups and he didn't notice the blown coverage that left one Browns player trying to cover two Bengals.

No NFL caliber coach will have any interest in coaching under Mike Brown. He'll have to do what he's always done and hire someone who's never been a coach before.

What's funny is that as much as Cowher was maligned and hated by Brown fans while he was the Steeler coach, they've been calling for him to be Romeo's replacement since he came through Cleveland's system.

The question is....how much power would he want within that organization? And that is something the Brown family in Cincy won't concede.

I think Cowher will be back. But where will be interesting.

From an email sent in to Bill Simmons:

I was watching the Bengals-Browns game with my buddy and his girlfriend the other day. At the start of the second half, they showed a montage of Fitzpatrick throwing picks, getting sacked and throwing horrendous passes. During each clip, my friend's girlfriend was saying 'awwwwwww.' It was the same noise you make when you watch your child try to walk for the first time or when you watch a rebound bounce four times in the WNBA. You know they won't succeed, but it's cute that they're trying. Can we make this their new slogan? 'Your 2008 Cincinnati Bengals!! It's cute that they're trying!'
