This has to be one of the dumbest trades I have ever seen. Hernadez threw out only 16 percent of base stealers last year, he had a fielding percentage of .988 with 10 passed balls. And he can't out hit Hanigan. The Reds could have gotten Morales from Minnesota for less than that. Plus the Reds lost Turner and someone else.

DUMB, DUMB, DUMB. I can't believe deal. The Reds are paying 8 million a year for this slug. This is dumber than signing Patterson last year.

The reds are not paying 8 million for this guy....the orioles are sending cash to offset some of the salary...he is a better catcher than we have now so its not that bad.

i could be wrong but from what i've read so far what baltimore chips in covers the buyout so the reds are on the hook for $8 million for '09.

According to figuers mentioned on 700wlw,the Reds are roughly paying 3.8 million for him. They sent 1 million to cincy.so with Freels 4 million contract that subs into about 3.8 million.Hernandez-$8000000
Baltimore-$1000000=$7000000
7000000
FREEL-4000000
ROUGHLY-3000000 TO 4000000 FOR CINCINNATI
This is how they figuered it,i am sure they are little numbers that add to this so,i belive this is a good deal.
