Mrs. Nate and I started watching "House" a couple of months ago. I'm totally hooked! I had no idea it was so entertaining. Sure, it's one of those shows where every episode is basically the same but the acting is pretty good and Hugh Laurie is superb as Dr. House.

Any other House fans?

I watched once when I was at my friends apartment down at UC a few weeks ago, which lead to me watching 6 hours straight of House marathon on USA yesterday. Awesome show.

Great show. I, too, only starting watching the show a year or so ago.

The future Mrs. Highlifeman and I definitely enjoy this show, and own all seasons of House on dvd.

I find "House" extremely addicting, and overall a very witty show.

I'm a big fan. I found out Hugh Laurie was actually British two seasons in. Just made it that much better.

My favorite part of the show is the back and forth between House and Wilson.

Agreed. Although I'm wondering if House and Cuddy are going to end as a "thing."

Been a big fan of the show since season 1.

Tonight's episode is a repeat of the premiere, Dying Changes Everything. After House couldn't save Wilson's GF (CTB) in last season's finale, Wilson is not a happy camper with House.

I think Cuddy is dressing even more provocatively this year. Lots of tight skirts and cleavage. mmmm....

Love the show, can't get enough of it. I think I've finally caught all the episodes thanks to USA and my DVR.

Yeah. I know he's kind of returned to form after the premiere and he's pretty much permanently single...but still!

Big fan! Was hooked by my 14 (oops 15) year old daughter.
I've seen every single episode, either "live" or renting the seasons from blockbuster.

It got really WEIRD, however, when I was diagnosed with a "House" disease this year (Von Hippel-Lindau - Season 4 Episode 2 - The right stuff).

The patient in that episode had symptoms that were nothing really like VHL patients have...but it made better TV, I guess. And good for the "awareness" factor.

Whoa, 1u!

Well, hopefully you received better "bedside manner" than Dr. House provides.

Thankfully, I didn't need House. I was diagnosed by a RETINAL specialist. He took one good look at my eye (I have a retinal angioma) and my medical history and said "you have this".
Genetic testing confirmed.
The guy possibly saved my life. I had a tumor in my spine which was found and extracted subsequently. I had no significant symptoms of that tumor.

One of the things about "House" is that almost all of his patients are severely ill. They are either diagnosed or they die. In real life you would probably prefer someone who can make sense of mild symptoms and find what's wrong BEFORE you get really ill.

I'm hooked on House. But I keep thinking as I watch that no insurance company would stand for all those tests and procedures they do - they are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on each patient. American medicine ain't like that.

I also think they are writing themselves into some corners. House and Cuddy can't be an item - they have to titillate but not satisfy.

Hospitals get paid based on each diagnosis a patient has that led to being hospitalized. If a patient has diagnoses of pneumonia, acute respiratory failure & anemia they get paid for each of these as a flat fee. If the patient stays for 22 days and the doctor orders $1M of tests the hospital is the one that goes banktrupt. So in a case where a doctor is wasting thousands of dollars on uneccessary tests it is the hospital that would pull him/her aside and have a little talk.

It's USA in syndication and it's on every day at 7 and 8 (I think). There are usually "marathons" on a pretty regular basis.

Fox shows the new episodes. You can even watch the new episodes online (http://www.fox.com/house/).

Great show and I don't miss an episode...

But lately it seems to be running the "characters' trying to figure out the other characters' psychology" angle into the ground. How many times has someone said this year, "You did that because you want me to think......." or something to that effect. I'm a simple guy...just give me House being a jerk while he solves complex medical cases...too much Freud going on lately. I've just really noticed it this season. But hey, I still tune in.

Yeah, I'm not sure I like the new "team" as much as the old one. I did think the winnowing process to create the team from last season was pretty entertaining though. Thirteen is interesting but Taub is kind of vanilla and Kutner is just annoying to me.

You do know, of course, that Chase (Jesse Spencer) and Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) were engaged IN REAL LIFE and then broke up (not sure how pleasantly). For a time you wouldn't see them together in scenes.

I was wondering "who is Olivia Wilde, and why was she referenced in this thread?"...

so I googled her, and then said "Oh, 13...."

Never knew her real name.

Now I do!

House-nerd alert, her character's "real" name is Remy Hadley.

I guess "Martin" was too obvious.

this may have been mentioned before, but if not, writers are into this:
House = Holmes (Sherlock)
Wilson = Watson (Doctor)

I love the show, and with my wife in the hospital currently, I find myself watching it all the time I can.

Right. I think House's apartment number is the same as Holmes' too.

Also, House is addicted to Vicoden, Holmes: cocaine.

Thoughts and prayers for you and your wife, Wally!

Love House. Love Fringe. Both shows are great.

And, I believe House's patients are referred to him... which is why he doesn't get them in early stages. Instead, they are emergency patients with difficult situations for which "regular" docs can not find a diagnosis. I also believe there are research grants involved so that the patient, nor his insurance company, is not billed for all the special testing.

Very entertaining.

I just got season one box set for X-mas. I LOVE that show. After I finished watching the set I'm now onto watching the other shows on the net. For those interested...

The fox site also has some, but pretty much only the new season and even then not all of them.

There was an article on EW.com that he's going to work in the Obama administration as like the director of public outreach or something. I guess he worked on the campaign and is going to do this now. He asked to be let go from the show and did so on good terms.

Augh.

With Amber/CTB being House's hallucinatory muse, the show was reaching new heights. Just brilliant. And then it all comes to a screeching halt with House and Cuddy getting it on. Crap.

Don't the writers know that once the sexual tension is broken between the 2 main characters on a TV show, that's it. Don't they remember David and Maddie, Sam and Diane, Laura and Remington?

Chip R

I think they made a mistake when they started getting into the life and relationships of the secondary characters.

I haven't made up my mind yet. I think I need to go watch it again.

That last 10 minutes blindsided me. My daughter walked in the door at 8:50 and wanted to talk. I was half-listening to her and half-watching House and I kept going "what? what?".

I get what happened, I just don't know if I liked it or not.

Thinkin the same thing, that would be a great twist. I don't think he did tho bc from a writing standpoint, how could they possibly recover from that?
