well, someone had to ask it considering we've beat down every other available guy who even knows the directions to left field.

Personally I always hated the guy...seemed fake...showboat....played for the Cubs...all that evil.

I've seen several reports that he's got a jones on for returning but I haven't heard what he's done to prepare himself. Anybody?

If he'd take a minor league contract I'd be ok with it.

Aged, dramatically declined skills, no HGH, Sosa is done. No thanks.

Some AL team needs to create the Sosa/Griffey DH platoon. Neither can play the field anymore, neither can hit same handed pitching, and they'd get to go head-to-head for their spot on the all-time HR list (Junior is 2 ahead of Sosa, 611 to 609). C'mon Seattle, you've got nothing else going for you. Make this happen!

OTOH, that might be an interesing thing. OTOH, I'm getting flashbacks of Willie Mays, unable to come within a sniff of his former self, with the Mets. That wasn't pretty.

That would be interesting.

My money would be on Griffey. He would be the LH part of the platoon and therefore see more ABs.

I also think Griffey has more gas left in the tank when it comes to hitting than Sosa does. Griffey could actually be a very productive hitter in this situation, with plenty of rest and facing only RH pitching.

The Reds couldn't afford Sammy's "medication" for this to be worthwhile.

Hey Dusty did manage Sammy. In fact, he managed another big home run slugger as well. How about we go into 2009 with Sosa in right field, Bruce in center field, and Bonds in left field. Sure we'd suck and be setting the franchise back a dozen years, but atleast we'd get on ESPN!

No thanks, we don't need to be the joke of baseball, if you get Sosa may as well get Bonds and Clemens to round it out.

Bonds and Clemens to round it out.

They would actually produce though. Sosa should not be lumped in with them.

HA! Why don't we go all the way with that outfield and resign Jr. to play center?

I doubt it, without their chemical help I think they would play to age.
