MLB FOM was given a very bad review by Game Informer Magazine in the Feb 2009 issue-3/10. It might be prudent to rent the game before purchasing it.

So I'm looking for a good RPG for PS3 or Wii...Elements I'm looking for:

- Fantasy (swords/magic) > Realism (guns)
- Tactical combat (turned based) > Action combat (button mashing)
- Group (of characters) > Solo
- Strategy > Problem Solving
- Somewhat linear > Completely open

I was a huge fan of the Shining Force series growing up and liked FF7-9. Was a big WoW player for a few years. I've had a hard time finding reviews for the games that really describe the gameplay. I've browsed a bit and seen games like Oblivion IV, Fallout 3, Fire Emblem, Disegea, etc. So what should I be considering?

Well, I did read that it was very in-depth, and sports games rarely get a fair shake in the reviews (think NFL Head Coach). Did the review even understand what he was doing? I read one of his complaints was that he was able to trade a player with a no-trade clause. Duh, you can trade them (with their agreement). If I buy the PC version that would help make up for the poor menus some. However, I'm not sure if I'm still going to be buying it right away. I might as well go with OOTP9 if I'm going to buy the PC version...

Amazon has it for $37 plus shipping. Looked at a few reviews, and people who like 'action' type baseball games where you are the pitcher or hitter will not like this game.

People who want to play GM will likely be happier with this game:

2K's Front Office Manager should provide hardcore baseball fans, especially those who participate in fantasy leagues, with an engaging and authentic experience in the life of an MLB GM. MLB Front Office Manager is due out in January on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

That quote is from a review HERE (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sports/mlbfrontofficemanager/news.html?sid=6201447&mode=previews).

I also have a couple Amazon certificates laying around, and I might just have to give this one a try.

I'll wait until I see some solid reviews...I was extremely psyched for NFL Head Coach a few years back (similar concept-no actual on-field gameplay) and was probably as disappointed as I've ever been with a game. It seems games such as these just do better on a PC.

" I have the game, and can answer any questions you may have". I will provide a link below to the thread:

http://www.2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=204105

A couple of things of interest after reading the thread:

1. The trading system is flawed.

2. It costs a lot of money to scout players in Japan. 30 million+ just to put scouts there, and more to actually sign Japanese players. They are MLB-level players, though, and don't need to develop in the minor leagues.

3. You have 3 roster updates: one on Jan. 20, 1 in February, and one in April.

4. The June draft has 25 rounds.

5. You gain points for your GM if your team is in the top 5 statistical categories, and you lose points if you are in the bottom 5.

I've read that there's way too much trading, it involves too many big name players and it's too hard to do it yourself. Many of the trades aren't "fair" either.

The free agent salary negotiations also are way more expensive than reality.

There's supposedly a forthcoming patch that will improve these aspects. I'm going to hold off on purchasing the game until I hear how that affects things.

Same here. Sounds like waiting for the patch may the best approach. That's what I typically do with nearly every sports game anyway.

I've always been a big fan of the Baseball Bogul series which sounds like it is about the same type of game. You would probably be better off going with baseball mogul however because it is relatively cheap, 20-30 bucks and has been around for 6-8 years or so, meaning they have all the kinks worked out already.

But I am also interested to hear about the likes of this game.

I've had a busy week so today was the first time I've had to play MLB FOM. Quick and dirty answer is - it's a quirky game with promise but simply not as good as Mogul or OOTP. If you are ok with that and are excited about playing a baseball sim on your console then it's worth the $40. I prefer my couch over my desk so the game is worth putting up with the flaws for.

The game designers to me took almost no ideas or themes from either of the other two sims - which is odd because tutorials or help is nonexistant and you have to learn everything by trial and error.

I think that reason alone is why the game got bad reviews - it takes a good sized time investment and some screw ups to figure out the quirks.
The depth of the trading and free agent setup exposes how unintuitive the menus are and that becomes a irritant. In fact, that may be the part of the game that's the most important yet shows the least amount of polish.

Overall there is more than enough substance and depth to ignore to rough patches. I plan on keeping it and playing it for the forseeable future.

If anyone has any specific questions feel free to fire away and I'll answer it as best I can.

jmcclain19
01-31-2009, 06:25 PM
One other note - 2k Sports promised roster updates with the game, yet the only one available online is for Dec 11. So it does not include any of the free agent signings for this year. I hope that doesn't speak to how they plan to support the game in the future.

Things are going well for my GM. I just got promoted to a level 2 GM, and as a result, I was able to add 4 points to improve my GM. I put 2 in Pitching Coach, and 2 in trades. I made solid trades, and signed Ben Sheets in free agency. Let's just hope I don't lose the points when the season starts. I can say the trading system is a bit unrealistic, though. I just traded Bronson Arroyo for Troy Tulowitski, and I don't think the Rockies would do that trade in real life.

I'd have to look at Brandon Phillips positions he can play. Each player has a certain number of positions he can play, and a certain compatibility with each position. You could put Brandon at SS if he has compatability at that position, but he may not be as good at SS as at 2B. You can't put a player at a position if he is incompatible at that position.

The hardest thing so far for me in MLB FOM was taking my 40 man roster, and reducing it to 25 players. Veteran players can reduce an assignment to the minors, so a lot of the time you have to end up trading them. FWIW, your GM can gain a lot of XP if you trade a veteran player and trade him for a young player with a potential of 60 or more.

XBOX LIVE

Tell me how this works. What does it cost to get on it? I think PS3 is free but not 360?

Yes, PS3 online is free. However, I think Xbox Live is the superior product and the vast majority of my friends who play online use XBL.

There are two types of XBL. XBL Silver is free and only allows you to chat with your friends. XBL Gold is the real thing that supports the games online.

The cost for XBL Gold is based on what type of subscription card you buy. They have one month, three month, and twelve month cards. Obviously, with the shorter time lengths you are going to end up paying more per month. I go for the twelve month cards because they include a thirteenth month free. I think they cost something like $55.

A buddy gave me an extra code for the Halo costume, weapon, and extra dungeon that came with the Limited Edition of Fable II. They're going for at least 30 bucks on eBay. NICE.

Also: EGM went out of business. Very, very sad, I've been subscriber of that magazine for probably at least 10 years now. :(

Xbox live Gold is the way to go. Superior to PS3 Network in just about every way.

Sad news about EGM -- I used to subscribe when I was in middle school - high school. I've got a bunch of back issues saved somewhere in a box at my parents house. In the early internet days, it was pretty much the authority on unbiased game reviews and coverage of the industry.

In other news, Circuit City is now 20% off on all game consoles. For those in the Cincinnati area, I was in the CC on Ridge yesterday and they had quite a few PS3s and XBox360s available for sale still.

I almost pulled the trigger on an XBox, but I couldn't justify buying an inferior system to the PS3 just to save a few bucks.

I suppose. ;)

I have friends who own both, and as best I can tell, the only thing the 360 does better than the PS3 is online -- and I never reach the level of proficiency at games required to make online play fun.

When you factor in the improved hardware specs from the PS3 & the Blue Ray playback ability, I can't see a good reason to buy an 360 instead of a PS3 other than the fact the 360 is about $100 cheaper.

The 360 has a significantly better (in that it's much larger) library of games. That said, the PC destroys all consoles as a gaming platform.

I didn't see this posted, but the demo for MLB The Show 09 is available on the PSN. I've played it a ton over the past few days. The demo is amazing and it's actually based on an early build. The final version will be even better.

That reminds me, the Halo Wars demo is now available for download on the XBL dashboard. I played through it a couple of nights ago. You can play the first two campaign levels and some multiplayer but no XBL. The story seems okay and the story graphics are awesome but the in-game graphics are lacking. The game play seemed repetitive and weak compared to a PC RTS but I haven't tried the multiplayer out too much so I'll have to come back...

i agree! i had the 360 first and loved it.(still have it) i had no complaints at all. i finally took the plunge and bought a ps3 last summer and never looked back. the blu-ray player is nice even though i already have 2 others. the big upside to the ps3 is the fact they use the blu-ray format for the games. there is so much they can do with the capacity of those discs compared to the 360. the graphics and video presentation blows the 360 away. of course the 360 will have their own releases you can't get on ps3, but that goes both ways. if the 360 adds the blu-ray(rumored) than i can see it getting close to an even playing field again. of course the 360 will have to come up with a baseball title that even comes close to mlb the show. that game just kicks a$$!:D:beerme:

I have both online "communities" so to speak, Razor, and the PS3 has definitely made strides, it's just impossible to catch up in a couple years to a company that has been honing THEIR online community for, what, 8 years now?

As to the PCs are better than consoles for gaming: Disagree. Playing a game on a PC sitting in a desk chair automatically makes it a less enjoyable experience IMO when I could be sitting on my couch in front of a 51" HDTV w/ 5.1 surround sound.

The myth that the PS3 hardware allows for better games than 360: Developers HATE programming for the PS3. The 360, on the other hand, is the easiest to program for system to date. Just about every game produced as a multi-system title will look and play better on the 360. Titles that are PS3 exclusives are FINALLY beginning to look spectacular, as programmers learn the ins and outs of the PS3 hardware, but the list of PS3 exclusives is pathetically small.

I own all 3 major systems, so don't call me a fanboy. Just calling it like I see it.

From a hardware perspective, consoles aren't even comparable to PC's. As for wanting to play on your couch, that's fine. You can use your TV as a monitor. If I had a 51 inch TV I know I would. :p:

I've played some of the more recent "killer apps" on PC ... My opinion is this: despite the huge hardware disparity between this latest generation of consoles and high-end PCs, the differences between the games themselves are negligible. The graphics etc. etc. are pretty much uniformly spectacular across the board. Sort of like the guy who built my PC telling me that after a few gigs of RAM it's pure overkill b/c I'm not doing any of the high-end processing that could ever properly utilize such massive amounts of processing power.

I downloaded the new Sony@Home beta and it seems pretty cool after fooling around with it for a half hour or so. What I'll be interested to observe is if Sony can continue to innovate it and add things to bring me back or if it will only be a stale, "gimmicky" type interface.

With Sony's impressive backlog of movies, it would be amazing if they would put some of their full-length films in their virtual theater instead of using it just for trailers. For instance, it would be really cool to have a 1:30, 2:30, 3:30 etc. etc. showing of Spider-Man on one of their screens. They could easily run couple minute long commercials every half hour or so to subsidize the playing of their full-length features. Watching a film with a virtual theater full of people could be really cool as there is a small chat box where people can react to what is happening on screen (they have this feature currently, but only with a couple movie trailers).

A nuance of the High Heat series that I loved on the PC was the quickness of gameplay...no multi-second lag time between pitches...if you knew what you are doing you could get through a game real quick. I want to play multiple 162 game seasons when I am in franchise mode...there's no way that is possible on the console games that I have played.

It's not a fact, just old news that has crystallized into myth. They both have compelling exclusive content. They both have in game communications. They both facilitate on-line gaming. Both have silly mii rip-offs.

The only thing that XBox live has over PSN is a larger install base, a large consideration if all your friends have XBoxes.

There is a lot of crap on the XBox live Marketplace. Quantity does not equal quality. If I compared the exclusive material on each I care about, I'd put PSN slightly in the lead personally, but it's pretty close. It's Rez HD/Geometry wars/Ikaruga/Pac-man CE Vs. PJ Eden/Super Stardust HD/PJ Monsters/Wipeout HD. Flip a coin.

Want to play the DLC for Fallout 3? Hope you have a 360, b/c it isn't available on PS3. Same story with the GTA IV DLC.

Paying truckloads of money for the timed-exclusive right to have people pay to extend a 30 plus hour game by another 10 hours or so is a dumb business model. Third party exclusivity is going the way of the dodo, and exclusive DLC will quickly follow it down.

As for specifics, I have no interest in the GTA DLC because, frankly, the main game was a little more then enough for me if ya know what I mean. I might consider the Fallout DLC (I bought Fallout 3 on Steam) when I finish the game sometime in 2027.

" Are these Micro$oft games that people are actually supposed to want to play? Halo and Gears and ... ... ... ...Banjo Kazooie?"

But I know better then that and so should you.

The PS3 already has Buzz!, Disgea 3, Hot Shots Golf, LBP, MGS4, Motorstorm 2, MLB The Show, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted (my favorite game of this generation BTW), Valkyria Chronicles, Resistance, and Warhawk.

To name just a few coming up soon, we have Killzone 2, GOW3, Grand Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, infamous, White Knight Chronicles, and MAG.

Both systems have advantages and disadvantages, but the "LOL no gamez" argument against the PS3 is pure fanboi nonsense by this point.

http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/puzzle/buzzquiztv/index.html?tag=result;title;0

Asides from MGS4 and The Show, there are no killer app titles that are PS3 exclusive.

Gears of War ... Gears of War 2 ... Halo 3 ... Halo Wars ... Fable II ... Left4Dead ... I could list some more, and I haven't even dipped into future releases at all, but that's 'GAME OVER' right there.

The biggest advantage of the PS3 is the blu-ray player, which is what I use my PS3 for about 80% of the time.

Well, there are a lot of people that only own X-Boxes. That's a lot of people with an inherent bias. Razor specifically asked for the opinion of a PS3 owner for a reason, and I gave mine.

The PS3 started this Gen seriously behind when it comes to online functionality, no doubt about that. However, I think they have essentially caught up now. It takes time for perception to catch up with reality. Why do you think X-box Live is so superior?

You're seriously going to bring up "Buzz!" to supplant your argument about PS3 exclusivity? :) A mediocre trivia game?

Sure. Understand that just because you aren't interested in it (or the genre) doesn't mean it's not a great game. Are we really going to play dueling reviews?

How many killer apps does the PS3 need before you acknowledge there are plenty of good game experiences on it? To me I see, well, Gears, Halo (including a "killer app" that hasn't even been released yet. Nice.), and Fable. Yet MGS, MLB 09, and Little Big Planet are laughable?

I'm not saying there aren't great XBox 360 games, there certainly are. I am saying that the PS3 games library no longer takes a back seat.

Hell, I hope the PS3 network and system continues to make strides and becomes better and better b/c we, as gamers, desperately need these two to keep pushing one another so the technology and games continue to advance as quickly as possible (LOL Nintendo is doing their own thing. And doing it quite well, to be sure).

Edit: sorry, I had a brain fart and didn't categorize Halo Wars as a future release... maybe b/c I played the demo last night? haha

My player has beaten 70% of the Tiger challenge, but only has like an 8.5 (out of 12?) rating so far. I haven't played online yet, but I manage to shoot low 60's on some courses for now. I'm wondering, once I get my player up to his highest rating, if I play online, do they give you a choice on what level to play on? If so, do they divide the categories up so that I'm not competing against someone playing on "easy" mode.

All they have left, for game consoles, are the 60 gig XBox 360s -- which they're selling for $229 -- and some PSPs at around $120. For games, it's mostly PS2, PS3 and Nintendo DS titles. Also a lot of Guitar Hero / Rock Band sets at 25% off.

DVDs and CDs are now 40% off -- with a decent selection of movies.

I stopped by my local Circuit City, and there was a "Going Out of Business" sign up. This may be the reason for the discounted prices.

All PS3 games certified by Sony after January 1st are required to have trophies, so MLB 09 will have them.

Usually, the trophy list is leaked well before release (we know the trophies for MLB 2K9 for example), but strangely we haven't seen anything for MLB 09 yet.

I'll post a link as soon as anything is known.

Regarding the Xbox360 v PS3 argument, I guess I've never understood the fanboyism from everyone about one or the other.

Honestly my decision came down to which system all my friends had - and that was a 360. I'm glad I did because there have been several 360 only games that I have immensely enjoyed specifically Mass Effect, Fable II, Gears (don't tell anyone but I may be the only 360 owner to date that hasn't gotten into Halo...).

Xbox Live does have an amazing amount of content on it - my wife and I watch "The Guild" along with the Horror meets Comedy series on a weekly basis. But the sheer amount of players helps make the service worthwhile. I busted out The Orange Box, a game that's been out for well over a year and was able to get in several Team Fortress 2 games for hours this week. With full 16 member parties.

But after watching the God of War III stuff from this week, When it comes out in March of '10 that may be when I break the bank and pick one up. I also think the Killzone II & Uncharted games look excellent. And Steel swears by Heavenly Sword so I'll have to give that whirl.

It's just weird to me to be so angry with one over the other - if you're a gamer you should enjoy games, no matter the system.

Speaking of that - Fieldrunners on my iPhone - may be the best game ever.

If anyone else is playing MLB Front Office, I switched to the Fantasy League with the Reds, and am enjoying that more than the straight up setting.

My Reds have Hanley Ramirez, Evan Longoria, Jay Bruce, Joey Votto and Chase Headley as our young core. With King Felix, Harang & Matt Cain on the bump and Lidge closing games.

I badly need a bullpen though, I'm getting slaughtered without one.

Saturday Night Live had a skit about adults playing the Wii.

You can find it here - but a word of caution. It's definitely not kid friendly. Very funny, nothing graphic or obscene at all but stuff you probably wouldn't want young ears to hear or young eyes to see.

Regarding the Xbox360 v PS3 argument, I guess I've never understood the fanboyism from everyone about one or the other.

Microsoft is a polarizing company -- there are still a lot of gamers/geeks who never got over the idea of the people that make Windows were trying to 'muscle in' on the video game market. Plus, console wars are hardly new -- before Xbox v. PS3, it was PS2 v. Xbox, and before that it was PS1 v. N64, and before that it was SNES v. Sega Genesis, and before that it was Atari v. Nintendo, etc.

On that note, I have buried my previous hatchet with Microsoft and, as of Sunday, am now an XBox360 owner.

IGN's review of Star Ocean: The Last Hope came out yesterday: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/955/955258p1.html.

This game, along with reading that FFXIII had gone cross-platform, is what pushed me over the edge in deciding to buy a 360. I *loved* the original Star Ocean, which I spent hours playing on an emulator when I was in high school (using a half-completed translation patch that was a total nightmare to apply correctly on a Mac), and I quite enjoyed Second Story when that came out on the PS1.

Reading the review, I'm really eager to give this game a spin. Even the "negative" parts of the review are awesome, as far as I'm concerned. Hell, I grew up with the Final Fantasy series on the SNES and PS1 -- give me "cliche RPG story" and "non-innovative, traditional gameplay" all day long. ;)

Use your left stick to Zone in on the location. Also, prior to the pitch, use the right stick to show your intention, pull, opposite, lift, swing down.

There is also a setting you can change for the batting mode with a circle that will show to zero on manually.

Try the guess feature too. I have been pretty good with guessing the location and type and destroyed the ball.

Isn't Sony already taking a huge hit on each console they sell as it is? I'm having a tough time seeing how they'll ever achieve profitability with the PS3, unless they plan on the console having a shelf life of close to a decade (unlikely) or if they think it's their best shot at getting lots of people to upgrade to Blue Ray and counting on making money off selling movies. The finances don't make sense otherwise.

I think they got outsold by Wii and 360 again this Christmas -- so I imagine they have to do something.

I'd be happy about a price drop, though, as I'd like to own both consoles from the current gen.

The PS3 is a Trojan Horse sneaking Blu-Ray into millions of homes around the world. Sony stands to make a ton of money from Blu-Ray sales, not to mention the cut they get from every game sold for the PS3.

I have a PS3, 360 and a Wii. The Ps3 is my absolute favorite but all three have their merits. I will never understand the fanboy complex. Heck, I'm a machead and think M$ is the devil, but that didn't stop me from buying their console. I'm a gamer first and foremost and appreciate quality games on any system.

It is hard to know for certain, but reports had Sony "close" to breaking even with the 60 NM Cell processor on each sale around the 3rd Q last year. Since then they have likely refined it further, with a 45 NM Cell Processor and GPU about to go into production. They're probably going to be taking a hit on each unit after the price drop, but not a large one, and they don't really have a choice given the current market condition. With the recent price drop on stand alone blu-ray players, The PS3 simply cannot compete either as a HT device or gaming machine at it's current price point.

All Sony consoles are designed with a 10 year life span in mind by the way. They are somewhat infamous for harping on their "10 year-plan".

So I am really getting into the MLB FOM game. It's really intriguing when you get into it. I may even put off on getting The Show because of it. The best way to run a really successful franchise is to wait until February. There will be all sorts of really talented players released into free agency, and you can get some really good players. It's easy to get talented pitching, but not as easy to get really good position players. I lucked out in my first season, though, and signed a minor league first baseman with a potential of 80. He's now got an overall of 65, and is my starting first baseman. The scouting part of the game is interesting, but you don't seem to get the same level of talent through scouting as you do through free agency. I'm worried about keeping my talent when their contracts run out, though. Maybe if I put more points in contract negotiation?

I've only played it for a little bit thus far, but it looks amazing. I'm a COD player myself, so get ready for a lot of adjustments as far as gameplay goes. The controls feel kind of clunky as they're trying to go for an anti-arcadey feel for the game. But it's still pretty good.

played it last night. The controls are extremely difficult to get used to when all I play is COD.

I kept wanting to kneel. The right stick click to aim isnt very intuitive and would like it not to be a toggle.

The graphics are bar none, the best on the consoles. The time they took to make this game shows. The detail in the game is incredible.

Some people have complained but the way you move and the slowness in aiming but I think that feels very real. I played COD last night and it felt like i was in a speed match or something. I did really well after playing the FZ2 demo.

The intro of the demo could be a little shorter. Win me on the gameplay, not the shooter mcgavin salesman movie.

Has anyone seen that commercial for MLB 2k9 with Tim Lincecum and the digital Tim Lincecum? They must have just rolled it out tonight, because I can't find it anywhere on the web, except this crappy boot leg style video.

I downloaded the MLB2K9 demo and was greatly underwhelmed. So much so I've backed off the idea of buying it this season.

All of the hubub about it being new and improved...well...it's pretty much the same stuff as last year. And that was a pretty mediocre baseball game.

I made a post earlier about being one of the only Xbox owners to never delve into the Halo world...well WilyMo, one of his buddies and I went thru the entire campaign on 3 player co-op the other night and it was tons of fun.

I don't know if I would have gotten the same enjoyment going thru it myself, I can see the game as a very entertaining one but I'm not sure about all the hype surrounding it to be honest. It's a great shooter but not the best I've ever played. But having the ability to do 3 player co-op was awesome. As long as we can get WilyMo to stop taking cell phone calls during the toughest part of the last level we were doing ok.

I got The Show 09 last night at Meijer. First year for me. I always had a 360, but I bit the bullet and got a PS3 for Blu-Ray and for this baseball game because I heard so many good things about it.

It is the best sports game I have ever played. It is so smooth. The Reds have some sweet throw back uni's as well. Unbelievable game.

Yeah dude it was a blast.

Online matchmaking is alright, but it isn't nearly as much fun as going through the game with people you know (and sort of like). :p:

Is The Show '09 worth the cost to upgrade from '08? With online roster updates, the gameplay would have to be really improved for me to want to drop $50 for it.

I was a midnight geek. I'm off this week so I figured, why not? Played until daylight. It is one beautiful game visually that's for sure. Mostly I just messed around figuring out where I need to be difficulty-wise and if I need to adjust any sliders for my underwhelming talent level.

Willy Taveres is way over rated. Way. Over rated.

Plenty of guys putting it through testing over here: http://www.operationsports.com/forums/scea-sports-mlb/http://www.operationsports.com/forums/scea-sports-mlb/

I've played a few hours of Killzone 2 online finally. My verdict is that I love this game.

It's probably not for more casual FPS players. The game's physics are very realistic and it takes a lot of work to get good at it. Teamwork is an absolute must if you want to actually win the games. Rambos won't win games for teams like in a Call of Duty.

I've been waiting for a game for a while on console where I can snipe effectively and this is it. The maps are absolutely enormous in this game and the multiplayer ranking up with the ribbons and badges makes it incredibly deep.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves with games these days. Playing with other people can be fun, but I should be ABLE to play the game alone and have a chance at getting through it.

I was a little disappointed with the franchise mode. You can't remove your coaches and hire better ones like you could last year; you have to wait for them to retire or their contract to expire. I had a whole lot of bad coaches(Baker included), and I was stuck with them. I'll look at it later some more, but I might stick with FOM to run a franchise. I'm going to look at RTTS later.

If you are good and have a large group of friends who play together a lot then matchmaking is MUCH more fun than beating the campaign over and over again...

Got the Show today and it's hot and cold hitting wise. I'm either killing the ball or just swinging at everything.

Sweet graphics and smooth gameplay. I'm not a big fan of the baserunning controls but I'll learn them.

Road to the show is nifty.

Throw on your mic and make your own cheers. They don't have camden as a first name so I recorded it.

Im having a tough time with the pitching. I start the meter, stop it at my velocity then hit it again at the thin yellow and if I hit it spot on, im wild.

Any idea wth is going on with that?

I don't know why that's causing you to be wild. I'm doing well as a pitcher it's a hitter/baserunner I'm having trouble on.

Yeah, I've got GTAIV for the 360 and it's not my cup of tea (but I can see how people would like it).

I still spend the majority of my PS3 time with COD5, but I break out MVP Baseball 2005 on the PS2 when I need a baseball fix. One of the best baseball console games EVER.

I have an issue with the batting angle personally. You have no real good angle to get a feel if its too low or just at the knees.
