Take this with HUGE grain of salt. Boras is well known to exaggerate the interest in his clients to drive up the price.

Perhaps this thread should be filed under "Andruw Jones Speculation"?

All of those teams were in the California Penial league

...And all of them offered him a minor league deal. Boras left that part out.:)

At least one if you include Bowden's Nationals. :D

There are certainly no guarantees, but I'd bet a lot of money that the Reds will have a better 2009. Either way, I really doubt another five-tool outfielder is going to cure the Nationals' woes.

Similar to Goldberg over estimating the number of teams contacting Griffey, Jr.

And nothing wrong with it either -- puffery and hype are the language of agents. When you think how much money is on the line in each one of the deals they sign, not only for the player but for themselves and their staff, it really becomes part of the job description.

I'd bet 8 teams have contacted him. Its not unreasonable. It doesn't mean 8 have contacted him to offer a starting job and multi year deal, but 8 have probably called asking if he'd take a minor league deal with an invite to ST.
