He is owed 3 years and about 28 million on his contract I believe. So how about the Reds send Masset to the Angels for Mattews JR. and about 15-18 million. That would be getting rid of a pitcher the Reds dont need and getting a solid OF. He has great defense and a decent bat with decent power. If the Reds could get him for around 4 or 5 million a year not a bad deal in my view. What say you?

Depends how much we pay and what we have to give up, Our outfield will be the best defensive one with Willy AND Gary

Nowhere for him to play. This 100% won't happen.

Dickerson, Taveras, Bruce is your everyday OF.

Wouldn't want to touch Matthews Jr. with a ten foot pole, personally.

Wasn't he one of the steroid era superstars? I would be leery of anyone who had inflated numbers during that era.

I could care less about the 'roids... he was just never that good of a player. Not to mention that is defense was severly overated. His defensive reputation resulted from 1 play. The Angels thought so little of his D that they turned around and signed Torii Hunter the next offseason.

At this point in his career, he's not any better than Willy T. That would be a waste.
