Pittsburgh beat the Marlins, St. Louis won, Milwaukee won, and Houston won. Obviously we were playing in division, so one team had to lose. Pitt and St. Louis move back ahead of the Cubs.

Cubs have to be feeling the heat right now. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati have much improved pitching. Pitt probably has a better offense than us though.

This could be very interesting.

While I don't think it will be the cakewalk that most "experts" predicted for the Cubs to win the division, I do think the Pirates are playing way over their heads right now. They are a last place team, period.

Are the Pirates this year's Rays instead of us?

If they keep pitching like that they might be.

Right now, their starting pitching is better than ours and so is their hitting. Not sure about their bullpen.

SO, in some ways a bad night for the Reds then, other then the win of course :) I want all NLcentral teams to lose out of division games any given night when not playing us!

Last thing the Reds need is an up year from teams like the Pirates.

Speaking of Central teams playing well, how much time til MLB levels out the AL West with the NL Central? They are the only division with 4, us the only ones with 6.

Every year in the West, every team has a 25% chance to win the division preseason, and Central teams 16.67%.

Seriously, when will they make it just a little easier?

AL West can have Houston.

AL West can have Houston.

On the basis of seniority in MLB, I would think Houston could choose to stay in the NL by moving to the NL west, and move Colorado or Arizona to the AL West.

I think I seen where Doumit will miss a big amount of time due to an injury. That will hurt the Bucos.

It wouldn't work with 15 teams unless we do more Interleague play, which no one wants.

Could you explain why it wouldn't work?

Dude, get a clue. 15 teams. Play is only within the league. How many games is that? 7? 8? 7.5?
