Amazing. I don't know if its good or not since they all count as a L, but its frustrating we've been ridiculously close to having a MUCH better record and haven't been able to get over the hump. Here is the breakdown of the losses:

- Three one run extra inning games. Total extra innings played in those three losses? 13 innings. Finally broke the slump.

- In addition, another two games were one run games. So to sum up, 5 of the last 10 losses by one run, 3 games lost by two runs, and the other 2 by more.

I was actually going to research this. Good job.

It is frustrating............in terms of what could have been.

Frustrating, yes, but look at the silver lining. We are in almost every game. If only we had a tad more offensive firepower we could legitimately contend. This pitching staff will keep us in the hunt but until we add the needed bat(s) and jettison our logic-hating manager we will not be more than an above average club that is a blast to watch.

UPDATE: 12 of 17 of the last losses are by 2 runs or less. Two of the 5 since I updated that weren't were by 3 runs. And throw another 14 inning game on the barbie as a loss as well.

It happens. Every team has tough losses.

Tough losses, yes, but just goes to show with a little more pop in the lineup we would be atop this division.

This could be said about every team in the league.

Having pitching for one of the rare times in my adult life is a refreshing thing. It's just sad that, when we finally get it, we have to run a lineup out there with spare parts. They need another bat in bad way.

The Orlando Magic lost Game 2 to the Lakers in OT over the weekend.

They're still down 2 games to 1.

Why do people rationalize close losses?
