I remember Brian Johnson when he played with the Padres. I have no recollection of him with the Reds. He made a huge impression.

Brian Johnson was one of several RH-hitting catchers brought in to back up Eddie Taubensee during the late 90's after Joe Oliver left and before Jason LaRue arrived. The only year he played for the Reds was 1999.
