View Full Version : Anyone else notice this? (WLW and FSN in synch)

For years I've always wished I could turn the TV volume down and listen to the call on the radio, but a 7 second delay on FSN would always mean I got the call on WLW too early.

This year it's a lot closer. I'm watching the game right now with the TV on mute and the radio on, and the plays are being called within about 1 second of the TV feed.

Pretty neat if you'd rather hear Marty and Kent Mercker over Grande and Brantley.

Edit: Forgot to mention I'm using Dish Network to watch the game, not sure if it matters.

Yes I noticed it too. I aswell have always wanted to try such a thing, and listening to marty I am back to Grande. The Negativtiy of Marty is deafaing. you would think he is happy with this team, and he would let up on a few mistakes here and there. but NO! he just keeps on complaing, complan complan complan!

It is only early June and I have already reached my boiling point with the "smiling side of the scoreboard scampering home" every night.

I'll take Marty's grumpiness and Brantley's goofiness over Grande's Grandeness and Welch's blandness.

Totally agreed. I'm through with Grande's blather. If I hear the word "nubbed" one more time, I'm switching to the Indians!

Very glad the radio and TV are more synced up this year. I like baseball on the radio so much better anyway.

I'm glad someone brought that up.I noticed the other night the two stations were almost in sync.I'd rather hear Marty and Cowboy than Marty and Thom. But I can deal with George''the nicest man in baseball''Grande, and Chris Welsh.I've noticed that Thom is even getting grouchy like his old man.

When I listen via satellite radio, that feed is about 13 seconds from the TV feed so I just pause the TV picture for that amount of time. :beerme:

For some reason, tonight the FSN feed (Dish) is ahead of the radio by about a second. Weird.

Does this have anything to do with the radio AT THE GAME being off? I sometimes (if I'm by myself) listen to Marty and Whoever at GABP while watching the game. It used to be (2006-2007) almost perfectly in sync. Now the action on the field is way ahead (10 seconds or so?) of the WLW call. It's a little annoying. But, I suppose you can't have it both ways at once (synced with the game and with TV).

Absolutely...I remember listening a little over a month ago to the first game where this was 'tested' - ever since I've been sitting on the couch with my radio on and TV muted! I like getting the reports from J. Fay and Hal McCoy, etc....

I think the home games are pretty much synced up --- I have noticed a delay in the away games.
