Hmm, with the draft coming up this sounds interesting.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stubbs is promoted tomorrow and Heisey goes to AAA.

I'd love for Alonso to come up to Cincy, but I'm not holding my breath.

Danny Richar is on fire.

No way they call up stubbs. Maybe they shift some stuff around but hes not coming up unless their is an injury and a starting spot opened up.

There is .00001% chance that Heisey and Frazier being out is related to the draft. I assume they will be in lineup tomorrow.

Mesoraco is 1-for-3 with his third homer.

You would love for Alonso to come up but not Heisey?

Alonso is going to be a better hitter than Heisey, and I never said I do or don't want Heisey to come up, just that saying he'd be one of the best hitters on the team is false.

Unless it's not. I would guess we will never know, as they won't call him up.

Its a shame we have to limit Stewart's innings. He makes these threads fun to follow like Bruce did and Bailey did in the past.

Mudcats get the win 2-1

Besides Stewart, Ondrusek is very impressive this year.

OK, back from game. Stewart looked good, nice easy motion (I expected him to be jerky for some reason), good control, nice change of speeds. Todd Frazier was talking to me during the game, and he said Stewart has nice movement on his pitches.

Game-wise, Sean Henry made a spectacular catch to end the 4th inning. Alonso made an error on a grounder by taking his eye off the ball too early, then made 2 nice plays in that inning. The game ended on a DP started on by Francisco on a very hard hit grounder. The Reds threw out a guy at the plate on the play Jax scored. Logan to Cozart, to Kroski. Krsoski made a nice catch and swipe.

Heisey and Frazier were just a normal day off, and at different points, both guys were on deck to pinch hit when the inning ended.

Frazier and Parker are recovering from mohawk haircuts.....

Stubbs isn't on the 40 man, and can't be promoted until he is. The Reds would have to make a corresponding roster move to add Stubbs to the 40 man roster.

im not saying stubbs will be called up because i dont think he will but it would be a real easy corresponding move , just put bray on the 60 day but they are probably waiting til after the draft just in case they find themselves having to give another major league contract to someone

I'm pretty sure they could just 60 day DL Bray

Stubbs is slumping (.194 over the last 10 days). Danny Richar is hitting, LH (a need on Cincy's bench right now) and would be easily removed from the roster later if need be. He's the guy to add if they need some one - and they do right now.
