I am a regression analysis of the roster from 2008. I used the batting variables of Hits Hrs BB SO as the independent variable and Runs for the dependent. I did this rather quickly but here is the data, the graph and the equation. I still am learning to make sense of these numbers, and will continue to do some more nerdy research. But here goes

Here are the runs that should have been scored according to this equation (which hasn't been verified quite yet as I'm gonna pull an all nighter for my Econ exam)

As stated, this was done rather hastily, and it may or may not be what I am looking for, I have to get to go to work or I'd do more. But according to the results our 3-4-5 hitters in 2008 should have been Phillips, Votto, Encarnacion.

Also, interestingly enough, the results show that Votto and Phillips should have scored significantly more runs.

If anyone has any questions, feel free.

Yikes, i previewed the post and I can't get the numbers neat and tidy, so if anyone could teach me that, that would be wonderful
