BAPSBPIP- Batting average plus slugging balls put in play

It is constantly said that pitchers can not control BABPIP but is it true of this version of OPS BPIP true as well? I think the pitcher has to be able to have some control over the quality of the ball struck. Keeping a batter off balance, moving the ball around the zone, and movement on the pitch should account for something- pop ups, balls off the sweet spot, etc must count for something or else a pitcher who lays a straight one up there should be as effective as one who doesn't once the ball goes into play. Even if the BABPIP should not fluctuate greatly is there more of a difference once slugging is taken into the equation. Is this tracked? If so where? Asked by a former junkballer.
