Any idea as to what farm team? Louisville? Carolina?
I would bet if it's Louisville tickets would sell out soon.

It's Louisville according to John Fay. I'd imagine ticket sales will see a spike for the next week or however long he's there.

Sheldon says its Sarasota. Seems to be a lot of confusion and bad information. Whether its Louisville or Sarasota (who knows), they'll sell a lot of tickets.

Hopefully he's only there for a game or two and we see him back (this weekend I pray) or next week for the road trip.

Dusty says he's shooting for June 30th, but he also said:

"If he calls and says he's ready, for a young man he knows himself pretty good, and he's honest,"

So it seems to be Votto's call based on how he's feeling.

Think that means a June 30 return date at the latest?

I hope so. I think Joey wants to get back just as much as we want him back. If I were a betting man, I'd say we'll see Joey sooner than June 30th.

Wow, I was really hoping before the 30th. I figured rehab would only take a few days. The White Sox series is more what I was thinking when they sent him on rehab today, but I guess not.

I think it'll be eexactly a week from today...the 24th

Great news. Hope it goes well and that Joey comes back raking in July. Schedule is brutal that month. If the Redlegs can tread water until then (and maybe just maybe add another bat) perhaps they can hang in the division race.

The quicker Votto gets back in the lineup the better, he is the cornerstone of my fantasy team, and I need the help.

Go back and reread the closed Votto thread. You replied to my message by saying "wow, just wow." It kinda irks me, because you missed the whole point of my message and didn't actually address what I was talking about. OK, so I didn't realize that he was only making 550k, so sue me?? Since that thread was closed, I couldn't actually quote you in that thread

OK, back on subject, great news. We need him in the worst way. The team hasn't been the same since his departure.

It appears, according to Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker, that Joey Votto is headed for Dayton to play rehab games for the Dragons on Saturday and Sunday.

“I think he is leaving today to go somewhere else - I think he is leaving today for Dayton,” Baker said late this afternoon.

Votto played an intrasquad game this morning with the Gulf Coast Rookie League Reds and, “He hit pretty good - single, double, 2 for 4, couple of walks and three stolen bases. That makes me feel good because his legs must be feeling good.”

Baker said he doesn’t care that it was accomplished against Reds rookies: “It doesn’t matter as long as he’s playing and getting some reps. That means he is on the way.”

The biggest positive coming out of this is that Katz can now shut his trap about the Reds hating Dayton. . . at least for a little while.

I cannot wait for his return.
