Lots to choose from, but I'll go with Ryan Freel's dive at Wrigley. Total lack of regard for his own safety, balls to the wall.

The first thing that came to mind was a player against the Reds. 1970 Brooks Robinson. The bastard.

To be honest, I've seen EE make some very fine plays.

Yes, but it's not who you think was the best player, what was the best play?

Yeah, that was pretty good. I'd probably go with that too, but that maybe because I was at that game sitting a few rows from the front on the third base side about even with third base.

I'm with Hap. Too many from Bell to name just one. He was magical with the glove and the most underrated defensive third baseman ever, in my opinion.

I am instantly jealous.

I also have to go with Freel's grab. Just too spectacular of a play to ignore.

Pete Rose completely taking Mickey Rivers game away from him in the 76 series by playing about 40 feet from home plate. That was every bit as fearless as Freel's, though Freel's grab is the best single play I can remember.

Johnny Bench actually playing third base is my all time favorite.

That was what popped into my mind first also, he's also made the best play by a right fielder (sorry Glenn Braggs)
