Brandon Claussen pitched seven innings of five-hit baseball in earning the win in his Reds debut. Jason Romano hit his first major-league home run in this game. I was at this game. A friend and former co-worker of mine is good friends with Rich Donnelly, who was the Brewers' third-base coach at the time, and he got us tickets right behind the Brewers' dugout. We also got a brief tour of the visitors' clubhouse.

The Reds must have been rained out on this historic day in 1969. It was a Sunday and nearly everyone else played. Retrosheet doesn't go into that much detail to say what games were rained out on a particular day.
I did notice that Vida Blue made his MLB debut on this date for Oakland.
