I have no use for him but Corey Patterson is a better defensive CFer than Taveras.

Not to mention he put up a slightly better OPS last year than Taveras has this year. Now that's frightening.

The Yanks are looking at him.

Really (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/07/yankees-eyeing-corey-patterson-josh-anderson.html)!

We already knew of the Yankees' interest in recently-designated outfielder Josh Anderson; Joel Sherman of the New York Post says to add the newly-released Corey Patterson to the list. Sherman says the goal is to find a fill-in for Brett Gardner, who broke his thumb on Saturday. Anderson and Patterson both have speed, at least.

Quick send them Taveras! Offer them someone like R. Ramirez if they take on his whole salary. Quick before they sign Patterson or Anderson!

I think Bronson Arroyo and Willy Taveras for Kei Igawa is really a fair trade all around.

Tell me it's horrible to think I'd rather have that suck artist leading off and playing CF than the suck artist we currently employ there, since CF leads off, dude.

CP in 2008: 392 PA's

.205/.238/.344/.582

ranked: #1037 of 1038 in VORP at -19.2

......better defense, more power, less SB's

WT in 2009: 372 PA's

.240/.279/.290/.569

ranks: #865 of 867 in VORP at -12.4

......speed, average defense, zero power, better at making contact

Summary: Neither, but if I had to choose I'd take CP. Still, two of the worst offensive seasons in the history of the game and they were all ours.

Awlsum.
