Just got word from a friend of the family that Justin Lehr was told to pack his bags in Louisville because he'll make his first ever major league start against the Rockies on Friday night.

He's not on the 40 man so I imagine someone will be removed in the next 24 hours.

I wonder if Larry Luebbers will throw out the honorary first pitch? :)

I heard Tom Shearn will be catching the first pitch from Luebbers..

Reds Twitter feed is now saying Lehr is tomorrow's starter. No mention of corresponding move from the 25 man roster. I expect one of the DL guys goes to 60 day DL to make room on the 40, probably Lincoln, if he's not there already.

Hopefully Willy T's injury is so serious he goes on the 60 day and then Dr. Kremcheck carves him up like a Thanksgiving turkey.

Like FCB said, Lehr is the de facto ace of the staff for now.

We better extend him and lock him up long-term then, no?

After we sign Homer long term and buy out his first 2 years of arbitration. Think of the cost certainty.

Glad to see Lehr get the chance. He deserves it.

At which point he'll be handed the starting CF job for next season. Carved up or not, the dude is fast.

Trade him while his value's high.

Lehr has 4.6 K/9 this year in AAA. The Reds need to find out what they've got in Maloney. And I'd say that even if I thought Maloney was a bum.

Maloney will get another shot. He'll probably get no fewer than 15-20 starts across the next two seasons.

We'll get a heaping dose of the clown car bunch from the minors. (Not that they'll necessarily be any worse than the trained chimps currently on the 25 man).

No way his win loss record is impeccable, and that is the most important thing EVER!

Lehr might be a better pitching coach for Bailey than Pole.
