Any news if Yonder played today?

GCL Reds are actually playing a night game right now and Yonder is not in the game. I also checked Sarasota's game and he is not playing there either.

I wonder if he had a setback while playing Tuesday? Seems strange to put someone on a rehap assignment and not play them, must be a minor league thing.

Mes taken out after one AB (single). That doesn't sound good.

GCL now leading 12-0 in the bottom of the 9th

Tyler Cline's line tonight:

6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 8 K

He's been pitching extremely well all season, but hasn't put up the strikeouts that he did tonight. Interestingly, he entered in the third inning after two scoreless from Jacob Johnson, whose frame and numbers suggest a very nice prospect.

I noticed a new guy DHing for the GCL club tonight. David Stewart, 6' 6" 230. 2 for 4 tonight.

He was this year's 22nd-round draft choice, out of a community college.

Roenicke, Manuel, Stewart, Fisher, Masset, Herrera, Del Rosario, Ondrusek, Viola, Tabor, Krebs, Watson, Valiquette, Beal, Davis, Thurman, Infante, Hotchkiss, Otterness, Serrano, Joseph, Gaffney, Wiley, Santana, Pearl, Cannon, Pizziconi, Dreissen, Molina, Adames, Rodriguez.

That is a list of young relievers that are in the system or were in the system that are having good years or are intriguing prospects. That is a lot. Most of them have ERAs under 4, others are top talent who haven't put it together (Watson, Pearl).

Out of that bunch, the ones who intrigue me are Krebs, Thurman and Driessen, although he might be a starter. Tabor has lately been starting, too--at least he was until his recent promotion. And Hotchkiss's last appearance was an excellent start.

I'm certainly not dismissing Ondrusek, but he has gotten everybody's attention already. And I'm not disagreeing with the generally recognized prospect status of Valiquette and Viola.

Oh, and Infante, of course. But I hope he gets an extended chance as a starter after debuting with six hitless innings.

Billings won 4-3. Yorman went 1-for-4 with a double.
