Dream round nets two holes-in-one

Scott Dingle had the round of his life Thursday.

In the Big Spring Country Club one-day Summer Classic, Dingle beat the odds (put at 67 million to 1 by Golf Digest) and carded two hole-in-ones during the same round.

“It was incredible,” said Dingle, a 30-year-old financial advisor originally from Columbus, Ohio.

Dingle, a member at Big Spring, said he now has four aces in his life. But two coming within 10 holes is “truly unbelievable,” he said.

“After the first one the guys in my group were going crazy, and I said that I needed to settle down and get through the round without double or triple on the card,'' said Dingle. “But after the second one went in, we all just went crazy.”

Dingle used a 7-iron on both holes — No. 15 and No. 6 — and the course said both measured 160 yards. He started the event on hole No.10 and finished with a par 72.

“My phone has been blowing up all day. I'm getting e-mails from family and friends all over the country,” Dingle said. “I am going to buy a Powerball now.”

At least he had a good round. Could you imagine having two 1's on the card and shooting 90?

I think I can imagine it...I had 3 birdies one round and shot 93...another round I had 2 birdies and shot 104...ack! :D

I believe this particular club has a history behind the pejorative.

I would hope so. I doubt after he got the first hole in one when he came to the next hole with the same yardage he was gonna say, "Gee, I think I'll club up here." ;)

I guess the terrain/elevation was the same then.

Kinda boring course if they have similar length par 3s with similar terrain, IMO.

But, 2 aces in the same round, same club, same yardage, pure awesomeness.

Funny story, one of my golf coaches in high school during a practice round was playing directly in front of me. He had an albatross (that's a 2 on a par-5!) and still shot 52. The very next hole after the double-eagle he was about to tee off with the same ball when another coach stepped in and advised against it. So he changed balls, and promptly duck-hooked it deep into the woods and out of bounds.

Never had a 2 on a par five. I have only once had a tap in eagle, its kind of a nice feeling to walk up to the green and see your ball resting right by the cup.

My uncle one time on a par 3 hit his first tee ball OB then proceded to knock in his next tee shot for a hole in 3. That is adding insult to injury.

I assume saying "nice par" didn't help! ;)

Whoops, my bad, thought this was about the Pitino affair.
