Mid August poll time!

Which Red is most scrappy?!

And why?

I'm going with Votto. First base isn't usually where you'll find the most scrappy player, but Joey is Canadian and is probably missing a few teeth from the hockey, and that's scrappier then american players going to the Gap and stuff.

It should be a scrap to the death between Rosales and Taveras. Votto is too smooth to be scrappy.

Rosales doesn't actually exist, he's just a hologram collage of images left over from Ryan Freel, Brady Clark, Chris Stynes, and THE Chris Denorfia.

Votto only seems "smooth" since he's an exotic international player.

I voted for Taveras. I read it wrong and thought it said, "Most Crappy"

Janish, b/c he's pitched 2.0 IP this season.

It's absolutely Adam Rosales. He even made it into a commercial for FSN.

Herrera gets my vote.

He's the one on the far left.

When you're shorter than the ball boys, you can't be anything other than scrappy.

Hanigan does the most with the least "skills". Hard nosed and scrappy.

Herrera is a close second. I'm about his height, so if I make him the most scrappy, I'm admitting that shortness is a handicap, which I will never do.

I only count players who actually do something with their scrappyness, so Taveras and Rosales don't count. Rosales might count next year if he is used in the right role.

I think you have a lot of time on your hands, Raisor.

I'm going with the sort of scrappy we aren't used to. Danny ray Herrera--scrappy and effective!

This team certainly is loaded down with scrap

I vote Alex Gonzalez. It's clear he isn't healthy, yet he's still out there grinding back from injuries. Also, he has 6 sac bunts and 2 HBPs...

I voted Phillips, because he has ran into the most outs. I do realize he loses points for actually being good, however.

I'll second that motion.

Rosales is the definition of scrap.

In order to be scrappy, you must be...

--white
--somewhat young
--not very talented
--always run hard

Rosales fits the bill to a tee

I voted for Herrera just because he reminds me of that punk kid that always showed up at the gym for a pickup game and annoyed the heck out of everyone.

This team has a lot of scrap.

Herrera. He's shorter than my grandma and grandma can throw harder.

< grandma = maximum scrappy

Reds '09: A great big festering pile of scrap.
