Aaron Harang returned to Cincinnati last night and had an emergency appendectomy.

He’s probably done for the season.

“He’s not supposed to do anything for three weeks,” Dusty Baker said.

No word on who will make Harang’s start Wednesday in Milwaukee. I’d guess Kip Wells.

“It’s been hell, ain’t it?” Baker said. “Whoever said injuries aren’t an excuse is lying. We get (Scott) Rolen back, and we lose Harang.”

Harang felt pain early Saturday morning. He was examined here. They caught it early enough that he was OK to ride back. Equipment manager Rick Stowe drove him. Doctors did not want him to fly.

Great just more fuel for the fire for Dusty to blame injuries why he sucks as a manager.

I guess we're not trading Harang...

I hope that Aaron is feeling better soon. It is a shame that he may miss the rest of the season, but I'd like to see him stick around for 2010.

Hey, Dusty, the team is in last place. A million games out of first. I don't think either Rolen's or Harang's injury is relevant at this point. Dusty has to go.

yea they will pull the we were competing until the injuries happened. Then no one will remind them they were competing in a division full of teams barely playing .500 baseball.

There are no coincidences.

The injury excuse doesn't fly when Harang won like 2 of 14 starts or something ridiculous before this.

I'd like to see Maloney recalled.

He's only 3rd in the IL in ERA.

Its going to be Kip Wells starting considering Wood and Maloney both went yesterday and today.

Leave them both down there and give Louisville a shot in the playoffs. This season is toast and a few extra weeks under Dusty's tutelage won't make a difference.

While this is true the division will be no better next year unless the Cards sign some of there key free agents. Some small improvements and a few less injuries and the Reds can hang in there in 2010 a lot longer then they did this year. However unless the stars align we will probably still be a player or two short.

Speaking of the Cards signing their free agents DeRosa and Holliday should at least be made good offers buy the Reds next year.If only to run the price up a little.DeRosa makes the most since to me considering he can play 2B if Phillips is moved to SS and play 3B if Rolen is unable to stay healthy.

I wish to make sure that BigLebowski came up with that one. I'm just sticking with it.
