First new game thread in five days. Looks like the exodus of interest is long running now. Can't blame em.

No one cares any more. We all hate Dusty and its boring to even attempt to explain it.

Should be a spectacular game! Corky's behind the dish.

I hope Arroyo continues to pitch well, and Rolen plays well. Arroyo to increase his trade value at the very least, and Rolen for obvious reasons. Definitely need some leadership on this team.

Good baserunning by Scotty

Great AB by Stubbs to get the BB. Bases loaded 2 outs, here's Janish....
Inches from a Grand Slam. 0-2 count. Weak grounder. Inning over.
1-0 Reds on the base knock by CORKY!

Team looking like a real ball club. 1st and 3rd, nobody. Here's Scotty...

Knock. 2-0 Reds, 1st and 3rd, still nobody. Nix...

Weak flyball, not deep enough, 1 down. Gomer...

K looking, no good, gotta protect, 2 dead. CORKY!!!

IT MIGHT BE, IT COULD BE....it's a popup in the infield.

2-0 Reds.

Comeon Arroyo, get out of this jam.

The better Arroyo does, the higher trade value he has in the offseason if we can make a deal. I'm glad to see him do well .. so far. Only two runs in 20 plus innings now I believe. I think he goes against all conventional wisdom and this guy is a better pitcher the more he pitches, as seen by his after ASB vs. before ASB ERA over his career. This guy should be pitching in winter ball or something.

Arroyo is what he is - 4.5-ish ERA 1.35-ish WHIP. 200+ innings EVERY YEAR.

Why some don't think that is worth $10-ish million is beyond me.
His durability alone and ability to eat TONS of innings makes him an above average pitcher. $10-ish million was below market when the deal was first made. Maybe now it's not with this economy, but you'd be hard pressed to find better in FA.

The way he's pitching NOW its hard to argue that. Problem is, when we were actually in contention and needing him, he was getting rocked with a 6 plus ERA with his usual 8 plus runs in 2 IP or less every so outing. That's the main problem with Bronson, he'll either pitch great or horrible. The gray area in between is few. Either way, he is still probably overpaid, but its not like its ridiculous overpaying like the Eric Milton era. He's still probably worth $7 mil or so.

I'm sure Bronson is thanking Burton, Rhodes, and Cordero for ruining a great game.

Geez...paying Cordero $12 million dollars to close out games...put him in at the START of the 9th. I don't care if it's a five-run lead. I don't care if it's a nine-run lead. If the closer is available, put his arse in. Who cares if it's not a save situation? He's called a 'closer'...not a 'saver'.

And they did it without Bill Hall.

Take that Todd Coffey. Maybe you can blame that one on the Reds like you did everything else?

GIDP

AHHAHAHAHA watching Coffey blowing it makes this game awesome. Zero respect for that guy after the way he handled himself after leaving the Reds.

Watch Dusty put in Owings to get the Save like he did with Fogg last year in san diego :bowrofl:

well, that was a lot harder than it should have been, but our boys hung in there and fought back......

......"And this one belongs to the Reds !"

Wow.

EDIT: Sorry I accidentally bumped this while watching the game today after that 3rd baserunning error. But I guess I could say wow at the total apathy of Reds fans into the came compared to last year versus this year. :P
