View Full Version : Hanigan's Incredible Season...

He did something only 24 other players since 1901 have done...

Have as many as 293 PA and only drive in 11 runs! Unfortunately I don't have the full B-R access, but the play index shows him as the most recent and lists 25 total...

How sad was the offense in front of him this year?!?!?

And 3 of those RBI was himself.
Not only in front of him.

Wow. That's hideous.

Hanigan should be our backup next season. If he has to be back there as much as he was this year we'll be in 5th and 4th again.

To be fair he did only bat about .150 with RISP. His stats went way down after the allstar break. I honestly believe Hannigan played more regularly than any timein his past 3 years in the minors, and definitely more than he had ever played a catcher. he was used many times in the minors as a 1Bman.

Pitchers also learned to deal with him. He is not fast, but he is a battler. I still like him and think he is the best catcher the Reds have at this point. He needs a good back-up though which Miller might prove to be. OH, I also think that Arroyo really loves the guy.
