Ah, finally one of the better players on the club.
I'll give him a:
150 games, 570 PA, 538 AB, .255 BA, .346 OBP, .523 slg., 88 K, 30 BB, 2 HBP, 30 HR, 72 RBI
Someone on tORG suggested a Gold Glove, and while not technically a stat, I certainly think he could get one next year.
I'm feeling good about him this year. I think his power and average will go up as he continues to develop.

I'm bullish on Jay as well:

Wow, I thought I was going pretty high. It seems we all expect Bruuuuuucey to do great things this season.

Someone informed me that some of my stats were not mathematically doable, because I forgot about SH/SF. I also missed something with the BBs. So in light of that:
518 AB, 42 BB, 5 SF, 3 SH
Hope this isn't too much trouble nate, though I think you could just add some negative #s to your averages.

I hope he can OPS .900+, but I think that's too much of a stretch. He definitely has the potential.
If he can OPS .850 next year, I'll be impressed.
Until he starts driving the ball (increasing his LD%) I don't think his BAPIP increases THAT much, and subsequently he won't get as many BB's either.
a .380 OBP is a pipedream. He simply K's too much and doesn't make enough solid contact to get on base/demand pitching around, yet.

I'll add in:
6 SB
I'll also say that I think Bruce is the least intelligent base runner ever. Generally, I think he's pretty smart about how he plays the game, but on the bases-- :yikes:
It seemed like he was always getting caught in a rundown, or trying to take one base too many.

Also no way he gets 100 RBI's batting 6th on this roster. Unless someone gets a "headinbuttaddectomy" and puts SS batting 8th instead of 2nd, and moving Bruce to 5th or higher.

If anyone has any sense he won't hit 6th with Janish and hanigan protecting him. That just wasn't fair to begin with last ye

I would rather see him hit .280-.300, with 25-30HRs, than hit 40 Hrs, and hit <.260. I hope he doesn't fall for the Dunn-esque approach and just try to hit Hrs.

How about 10 outfield assists?

I don't see him hitting 40 bombs fellas. Not yet. One major reason is he is still gonna be ugly against lefties

Jay Bruce has to cut down on his strikeouts. If he only strikes out 88 times this year, I'll be thrilled. In fact, in today's game, it is very rare for most players to strike out less than 100 times.
