I want to set up a shared calendar, tasks, etc. for my office but our computers don't have Microsoft Exchange.

As of Office 2010, you can no longer host calendars on Office Online, so that option is out...

Does anyone know of a free (or as close to that as possible), web-based way to create shared Outlook content?

I'd like to try and find a free app. That one is $50 per user, per year.

Also, for some reason the people in my office are fixated on using Outlook and not just a google calendar.

Yeah, I think google's free one is better than MS's anyway.
