CINCINNATI, OHIO – FOX Sports Ohio today announced its 145-game Cincinnati Reds television schedule for 2010. The Reds regular season begins with their home opener on Monday, April 5 at 1pm against division rival St. Louis Cardinals at Great American Ball Park.

"We're excited for a new season of Reds baseball," said Henry Ford, Senior Vice President and General Manager, FOX Sports Ohio. "With the addition of some talented new players during the off-season, both on the field and in the broadcast booth, Reds fans have plenty of reasons to look forward to the upcoming season. FOX Sports Ohio is proud to provide fans unparalleled, state-of-the-art coverage of the Reds all year long."

The network will kick off its coverage of the home opener with Reds Live pre-game show, presented by Ray St. Clair Roofing at 12:30pm. Jim Day, Jeff Piecoro and Brian Giesenschlag will take the field to feature all the Opening Day festivities.

As previously announced, Thom Brennaman will serve as the play by play voice for the majority of Reds game telecasts this season. Cincinnati native and longtime broadcaster Paul Keels will be the play-by-play announcer for the remainder of the Reds schedule. Both broadcasters will team with color analysts Chris Welsh and Jeff Brantley. George Grande will also return to his play-by-play announcing role in September on a limited basis.

FOX Sports Ohio will continue its comprehensive pregame coverage of the Reds all season long with the return of Reds Live, presented by Ray St. Clair Roofing, featuring co-hosts Day and Piecoro and feature reporter Giesenschlag. Reds Live will once again provide fans with commentary, features, and in-depth pregame coverage of the Reds 30 minutes prior to every game telecast. Immediately following the final out of each game, the post-game edition of Reds Live will feature highlights, player interviews and analysis.

Behind-the-scenes on all of FOX Sports Ohio’s Reds productions are producer Christian Roberts; directors Brian Hunterman and Roy Alfers; and Reds Live producer Kent Weaver.

The following schedule does not include high definition (HD) telecasts. The release of the complete Reds schedule including HD is forthcoming.

See the following for the standard definition schedule.

I'm curious to see the HD schedule when it comes out. I don't know the economics involved in producing HD games, but one would think we are close to the time where there is no excuse for most of the games not being in HD.

We're not close to the time, we are at the damn time. HD has been around long enough and now has enough market penetration that there is no excuse to not broadcast ALL games shown in HD.

Sorry, I get cranky when it's not in HD. :)

Agreed. It's very hard for me to watch non-HD sports (on anything for that matter), and I hope very soon all Reds games will be in HD.

Per John Fay
I heard today that Fox Sports Ohio might air all 145 games on its schedule in High-Definition. We’ll know shortly. The release of the schedule yesterday said the HD schedule will be released soon.

This would be awesome! Just stepped up and got a 46" hd tv a couple of months ago. Can't wait to watch the Reds on it.

They'd better. There's no excuse not to. Some other teams went 100% HD 2 years ago, and even more last year.

Does anyone know how to get Comcast games in HD if you don't live within the Fox Ohio broadcast range.

For the last 2 years I've paid Comcast to get all the games, of which they promise that a percentage would be in HD. Then when you go to watch the games, none of them, even if labeled HD, are in HD.

I had/have a serious problem with this and called Comcast to complain. I made it all the way to the Presidents AA, who I fought with for about 10 minutes until she finally "admitted" that the decision is not up to Comcast, but to the source providers of the feed.

To which I said, "Then that's false advertsing, because I have never gotten a game in HD from you." We then agreed to disagree.

So has anyone had similar experiences, and does anyone know how to get HD games in Atlanta?

Fingers crossed.

This is one of the main reasons I bought my new HD TV last week: :beerme:

I got it at HHGregg. They wanted $1241 but I negotiated down to $1169. It was on sale to begin with. It is set up and looks great.

I did NOT get the warranty. ($279 for 3 years / $379 for 4 years )

The factory warranty is 1 year parts and labor.

U Guys Know if MLB Extra Inning Will Have Most of The Reds Games?

Yes, they will. I'm a dislocated Reds fan and get the MLB EI package every year on DirecTV. There is SELDOM a game that is not broadcast. Even the few games the Reds don't broadcast, you can usually get the other teams broadcast. This is all based on me being in an out of market town (Milwaukee). It might be different if you're in the Cincy market.

For those who have insight, FS OHIO HD will be on channel 930 this year.

Does anyone know exactly how MLB TV works? I live in Akron now and I want to watch my beloved Reds this year. The Blackout policy isn't real clear on the MLB web site.

Also, I get FSO-Cincinnati with my AT&T cable, but I'm pretty sure I remember last year that the games were always blacked out in my area. Does anyone know why Reds games would be blacked out in my area? If I buy MLB TV, will those games still get blacked out even though I'm paying 25 bucks a month for it?

I just called Time Warner, They had me reset my cable box even though the channel is saying "HD Sports" with orchestra music playing in the background, lol.

They were actually going to have a tech come out to my house but now are creating a tech call in my area to try and resolve the issue which of course is a location area problem.

The game was definitely in HD, but for some reason your local Time Warner system didn't pick up the feed. My DVR recording had the game. The only issue I've had was that one game where they had tech problems and the HD didn't come on until the game had already started.

I live in Cincy (Clermont County) and haven't had any problems with HD at all this year sans one game where the HD feed didn't pick up until the 3rd or 4th inning. So glad they are in HD, FSN looks like crap in 16:9.

No Reds in HD via Time Warner again.

They said a "call" has been made out to FSN Ohio. Yeah, I believe it.

I ended up taking this issue in my hands Thurs. around noon. I called FSN myself. There were no menu options or anything. A human being ASAP. I told them the issues with Time Warner in my area. The lady was very nice and said it is a known issue with the feed and they are working with T.W.

Low and behold, the Reds HD feed came in that Thursday night and last night. I will take credit for fixing the issue. :beerme:

Now, the other issue is that the Reds need to WIN in HD. 0-2 thus far for me. :thumbdown

I live in central KY and have Dish Network. Both last nights and tonight's game against the Bucs are not being shown to be even offered in HD. There was two of the Marlins series games not shown in HD either. Haven't called Dish Network about it because I know it would be like pulling teeth to actually get to talk to someone who could give me a honest answer to my question. Anyone out there who has Dish also and has a explanation for the non HD games your response would be greatly appreciated.

I knew I would jinx myself. The Reds are not in HD via Time Warner again. :thumbdown I called them up just to show I am calling to state when I am not receiving the feed. I will call FSN on Monday.

I live in Bowling Green, KY and have Insight communications as my cable provider. We are supposed to be getting all Reds games in HD here on our channel 929, which is listed as the "HD special events" channel. We get FSNOhio full time in standard def, but not full time in HD as some other Insight markets do. Of course, as in past years, a big portion of the games so far this season have either not been on the HD channel (it'll just be a blank screen) or have not come on until the game is practically over. I've called Insight at least 5 times on this over the last 3 weeks, with no satisfactory answer. Their customer service is located in a central office somewhere else (maybe Louisville?) and I have been unable to speak to anyone here in the BG office because they won't give you a local rep to speak with. I keep getting the excuse of "we'll take a look into it, and we'll make a note of your continued reports". Yeah, right....hasn't helped yet. :thumbdown

The Reds say that all the games they air on FSN Ohio will air in HD. This is not the case on Dish Network. There have been numerous games this year that have not been in HD including todays game against the Indians. Has anyone had this issue with Directv or Cable?

I have Directv. At the beginning of the season it seemed like there were a couple of games that were supposed to be in HD that ulitimately were not, or HD would not work for the first few innings and then magcically come on. No problems since then.

Mine was in HD.

But I pulled this thread up and bumped it to ask a question. Has anyone in the Western Ohio division of Time Warner (which I assume is from the Indiana line to the Dayton and surrounding areas) had problems with pixelating and video freezing on the HD feed of the Reds games in the last week? Mine's been bad and it's driving me nuts.

Those Scientific Atlanta HD-DVR boxes are notorious for being pieces of dung, so I'm not sure if my box is going bad or if it's the feed, and I don't know anybody else in the New Paris area (since there's only about 15 people in the town, lol) who watch the Reds and have an HD set, so I can't compare with other's experiences to find out.

I've had this problem off and on ever since switching back to Time Warner cable. Sometimes it's the HD-DVR box, but once it was the switch that was installed in the basement. Basically it was not putting out a strong enough signal for HD broadcasts. Time Warner replaced the switch and I've been fine for a while now. I'm sure it will come back again when the hard drive in the DVR starts to die again.

My issue is only with the FSN-OH, though. I'm sure those cheapskates aren't putting out as HQ video as say, ESPN or NBC or whomever. I'm thinking of jumping to DTV anyway.
