I know some will consider this knit-picking......but I just have to say this. We had a nauseating dose of Mr. Fay the other day and now, I read (via Mark Sheldon) on the Reds website that a young pitcher by the name of Del Rosario had his career saved by a Reds' Minor League pitching coach.

Encouraging, exciting even.....maybe.....until I read that this pitching coach is named Tom Brown......Tom Brown? Would that be the 20 game winnner, perfect game pitcher of Reds fame named Tom Browning?

And this was no typo......the mistake is found twice in the same article.

So, Mark Sheldon seems to think that the Red have a pitching coach named Tom Brown.......come on man!

You're gonna feel a bit stupid, but...

BTW. It's "nit-picking" as in "nits" the eggs that lice leave in your hair.
But that would be...never mind. :)

And I do...sincerely. I read somewhere last week that it was Browning that had changed Del Rosario's arm slot. Oh well. I am sorry....my mistake.

I remember reading some good stuff about what Tom Brown did with Homer a while back in Sarasota. Seems to be a key pitching coach in the system, now up to AA (where I bet they put Leake to start the season).

This is the same Tom Brown who fixed Homer Bailey while he was on a rehab assignment. Until Pole and Power un-fixed him. Tom is an excellent coach and the best minor league pitching coach they have or have had, bar none.

BTW, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that Tom Browining was walking around taking credit for what Tom Brown has done. That is absolutely something he would do.
