When do the daily broadcasts on WLW begin?

Saturday. Everything thereafter will get radio through the end of spring.

No D-backs audio on mlb audio either, so Gameday refreshing and twitter updates from the beat writers only for this game.

Allen singles
Abreu K's
Coughlin singles
Gillespie GIDP

5-0 reds after 2

Sorry for the delay...newborn diaper duty called (3 weeks old tomorrow)

Cueto's escaped unscathed, but 4 singles in 2 innings. Not exactly sharp I'd say.

Top of 3rd

Francisco, Bruce, Cairo due up

Beat me to it. Bruce!!! Solo shot to left! :jump:

Ya gotta love Hal : "Bruce is playing the wind like a pro golfer with a wedge. His drive to left field carries over the wall with one out in the third. 6-0."

_Sir_Charles_
03-16-2010, 04:59 PM
FSOhioHalMcCoy: Cairo hits a wind-blown double to CF, steals third, scores on Burke's sac fly. 7-0.

Lack of offense? Pshaw!

Given the wind, love reading that Cueto is keeping the ball down. Two gidp to end innings, and another groundout.

_Sir_Charles_

He's out there for the 3rd at least. Not sure though.

_Sir_Charles_
03-16-2010, 05:09 PM
FSOhioHalMcCoy: D-Backs' turn. Johnson doubles LC gap. Parra flies to deep center and the sun and the wind grab Stubbs and it falls for a double and a run.

_Sir_Charles_
03-16-2010, 05:16 PM
ctrent: RBI single for Montero. #Reds lead 7-2 2 outs in the 3rd
FSOhioHalMcCoy: Montero singles under Phillips (that's three just past him today) and another run scored, 7-2 after three.

_Sir_Charles_
03-16-2010, 05:18 PM
FSOhioHalMcCoy: @breadman2776 I think you're right. Dickerson is leading the pack. But then I'm not the manager.

D-backs' third:

Ojeda flies out to Stubbs
Johnson doubles to center
Parra doubles to center (1 run scores)
Jackson flies out to center
Montero singles to center
Allen BB
Abreu grounds out to Phillips

It seems that Cueto is quite off from all the hits (7 hits in 3 innings). And if nothing else, Stubbs is getting some defensive work in today. Sheesh! Everything's hit to center.

ctrent: That's it for Cueto. #Reds up 7-2 2 outs in the 4th, runner on

Qualls in for the D-backs facing Francisco

ctrent: Juan Francisco has seen 3 pitches in 3 ABs today. 1-for-3 #Reds

Yikes. Not exactly the patience I'd like to see from Juan. You'd think he'd be focusing on that some more after Dusty's comments about his aggressiveness.

RBI triple for Burke. Not sure if it was Bruce or Cairo who got on ahead of him. But regardless... 8-2 good guys

It was a Cairo single with 2 outs that preceded Burkes' 3-bagger.

_Sir_Charles_
03-16-2010, 05:43 PM
Hal's reading our gamethread apparently.

FSOhioHalMcCoy: Dusty wants Francisco to be more selective, see more pitches. Ha. In 3 ABs he hit the first pitch all 3 times. 3ABs, 3 pitches seen.

03-16-2010, 05:46 PM
Reds 5th:

Francisco grounds out to 3rd
Bruce lines out to right
Cairo singles to right
Burke triples to center (Cairo scores)
Frazier K's

Valiquette stays in for the 5th

ctrent: A sac fly with bases load and then a 2-run double. #Reds lead 8-5. That's it for Valiquette

I saw him pitch, but it was right after Chapman pitched, so it was hard to gauge. He looked like a softball pitcher after Chapman, but he did pitch a scoreless inning.

_Sir_Charles_
03-16-2010, 06:13 PM
:jump: Janish bringin' out the BIG LUMBA! 2 run shot makes it 10-5

ctrent: Paul Janish with his second homer of the spring. #Reds lead 10-5
FSOhioHalMcCoy: Paul Janish? Home run? Again? Yes, again. Janish hit a 2-run homer in the sixth to give the Reds a 10-5 lead.

Paul is doing his Dickerson impersonation. Pissed off that his spot's been "taken". OPS THIS! :O)

I thought Hal had been around long enough to know better than that. No one is saying Stubbs shouldn't have to earn the job. But only on rare occasions should anyone earn the job based on spring training stats.

Reds 6th: Bob Howry replaced Chad Qualls for the D-backs

Hanigan singles (replaced Miller)
Anderson flies out to left (replaced Stubbs)
Janish dinger (replaced Cabrera) Hanigan & Janish score
Miles BB (replaced Phillips)
Heisey GIDP 4-3 (replaced Francisco)

Middle of 6 10-5 Reds

Anderson - CF
Janish - SS
Miles - 2B
Heisey - LF
Nix - RF (Bruce out)
Sutton - 3B (Burke out)
Alonso - 1B (Cairo out)
Hanigan - C

D-backs 6th:

Roberts grounds to short
Deeds K's
Parra flies out to Heisey

Nice 1-2-3 for Ondrusek

_Sir_Charles_

Nix, Alonso, Sutton due up

Tons of defensive switches for the D-backs too...but I really don't care...do you?

Mesoraco PH's for Frazier and gets plunked

Speaking of Brosnan, just finished his book The Long Season. Fun, leisurely account of the 59 season, half spent with the Reds.

Did you know... he was a top 20 vote getter in MVP balloting for his contribution to the '61 pennant-winning team?

Anywho.... thanks to those keeping us updated.

Reds 8th inning:

Josh Anderson flies out to left (last AB we see from Josh?...I think so. He'll be a first cut)
Janish pops out to short
Miles reaches on error by SS
Heisey lines out to center (also in jeopardy of getting cut soon if he doesn't start taking batting tips from Janish)

10-5 Reds in the middle of the 8th

Jon Adkins in for the 8th (per c-trent) & 9th too I'm assuming (at least that's all klw said was slated to throw today)

D-backs 8th:

10-5 Reds heading to the ninth

Reds 9th: Nix, Alonso & Sutton due up

Drew Sutton RBI double to make it 11-5 (I'll add the details shortly...have to wait for gameday as the beat writers are calling it a game and heading to the clubhouse for interviews already)

ctrent: A FC E4 makes it 12-5 #Reds still top 9 (okay, apparently C-trent is still watching the game *grin*)
ctrent: Anderson single makes it 13-5 #Reds
ctrent: Spooky. Yesterday the #Reds won 13-5, the #Diamondbacks won 13-5 and it's 13-5 #Reds lead in the 9th today

Reds 9th:

Nix flies out to right
Alonso singles to left
Sutton doubles to center (alonso scores)
Mesoraco BB
Hanigan reaches on FC, (sutton scores)
Anderson singles to right (Mesoraco scores)
Spottiswood new pitcher
Janish BB
Kris Negron?!? Who? He hit into a DP to end the inning.

_Sir_Charles_

I thought the baby was waking up...nope, just fussed a bit and conked back out

13-5 heading to the bottom of the ninth

ctrent: don't call it a comeback. #Reds 13, #Dbacks 6. 1 out on 9th
ctrent: and we're finally final. #reds 13, #dbacks 6

And this one belongs to the Reds! 13-6
