Anyone else feel like Joey hardly has gotten many at-bats in spring training?

Seems like nearly every ST box I look at, he gets pulled after one at-bat. He's not hitting very well, and I keep wondering if Dusty is not doing him any justice by substituting guys in for him after like 2 or 3 innings. He needs his at-bats. So does Phillips.

Time to get the starters their AB's to prep for the real season.

They are fine. This is the time/place to say "Spring Training Stats don't matter", with these veteran guys who aren't "fighting for a roster spot", they are probably just going through the motions.

Joey Votto doesn't go through the motions.

I understand it's just spring training but the regular season is right around the corner.

Joey Votto has two speeds, walk... and kill.

On MLB's 30 for 30 Joey described himself as a slow starter, and said that the most imprtant thing about ST for him was to "get all of his mistakes out of the way."

Come on, Joey is a beast, the only worry I have is that the depression keeps dogging him.

No really, Spring training is for the guys to get in shape and get in the groove. The only thing that will stop Joey Votto is Joey Votto. His potential is through the roof. If he felt he needed more at bats I'm sure he would tell Dusty. Joey Votto is the least of my worries.

He's going to hit .300 again this year and knock in 100. If he doesn't I shudder at how bad it could get for us offensively. I really do.

Joey Votto doesn't do push ups...he does earth downs.

I thought the same thing about the at-bats. I think part of it is that he has gotten a good amount of walks during Spring Training.

Votto had a great day today - 3-4, 2 singles, a HR, and 2 RBI.

another HR and a double yesterday.

Guess he's back to battling for the Triple Crown now!

We'll see if next week if he's headed back to the DL/PUP or not.
