The only hits for Les Expos were triple by Rusty Staub followed by an RBI single by Ron Fairly with one out in the seventh inning, and a leadoff single by Gary Sutherland in the ninth. SS Dave Concepcion made his major-league debut for the Reds in this game, and rookie LF Bernie Carbo homered in the fourth inning for his first big-league hit.

It also should be noted that this was George Lee Anderson's first game as a MLB Manager.
