Thanks VR.

I want to sincerely thank all the posters we've had, past and present, for making RedsZone what it is today and for allowing us to last 10 years and still running.

Except for a few. ;)

What was the exact first day the site went online?

Yeah...good point - except for a few. :)

I believe 4/17/2000 was the initial date RZ was founded, as a separate message board from cincinnati.com, though the actual domain RedsZone.com did not exist for a little bit of time after that.

Thank you, RZ! This is, by far, the best place to find discussion about our beloved Reds. Keep up the good work.

It was in a coma on life support for a while before that.

Is there any truth to the rumor that the first post was "Whiffey is not your savior"? ;)

I love this place. There's not a better place on the internet to discuss Reds baseball.

Over at the Peanut gallery there is a function that shows how many hours/days etc you've been logged in to the site.

I'd hate to see that number for me and RZ.

It's the first site I look at when I wake up in the morning, and it's the last site I look at before bed.

Thanks for a great (almost for me) Decade.

Yep, ten years in Internet years is an eternity. Think about the software we were using, the state of the Web sites we were visiting, and the specs of the hardware we were using back in 2000. I suspect a goodly number of us were on dial-up back then, and were tied to swivel chairs in front of a monitor big enough to house a family of four.

I remember the Gallagher stuff over on cincinnati.com but I didn't find this site until 3 years later....(went to reds.com in between...oh boy)

Anyway did he ever post on Redszone? Just curious.

He was the reason RZ was created, to get away from him.

How about a flaming bag of redzone poop-ola sent to his trailer doorstep? He's probably institutionalized once his traitor "Whiffey" came back in Seattle.

I think he did for a bit, but under a different name. Not sure.

And of course there was also kappaloosa. :p:
