Our lineup looks much better in this one. Glad Stubbs is back starting. Hopefully Cueto is in shutdown mode.

Fox Sports Net via Time Warner Cable in the Columbus area is showing the Blue Jackets whose season is over unofficially.

This was gonna be my first Reds game watching it on my new HD TV which is the main reason I bought it.

I thought I would be able to see them via MLB Extra innings free trail this week on Time Warner. You guessed it.....It is BLACKED OUT. :thumbdown

I hate Insight. What's the deal. Opening Night has ALWAYS been televised. What a load of garbage.

Fox Sports Columbus must have "obligations" to show the Blue Jackets. :(

This team isn't going to hit all year I don't think. Glad the game isn't televised. A frustrating group led by a frustrating leader.

Opening day, Opening night, doesn't really matter. Seems like we don't do much in either of these events ever. So disappointing.

Update: If your cable company does not have it on the regular channel, scroll through them. I found the Reds game on channel 72 via Time Warner cable. The Jackets game is on the HD and Standard Def regular Fox Sports Net channels.

If we could get a decent batter for someone like Harang, that would be awesome. We have nadda at the plate.

Good job by Cueto. He recovered nicely from a bit of a shaky start. Lets go C DICK

That was short lived. I knew it when I typed my last post we'd blow the lead right away.

This sucks. I'm not optimistic about this group any longer. I don't care if its knee jerk. I was foolish to pick the Pirates and Houston dead last in the division. We're hideous again. We're a lot of players short. Dusty isn't the guy. We've got like, 3 guys on this team with long-term value. Bruce isn't one of them, neither are guys like Dickerson, Stubbs, etc.

It's going to be a long year and Dusty isn't the guy to lead this young group. Matter of time until management sees that and is tired of coming up short more often then not against the Cardinals.

Tough spot to put a rookie into - heart of the order - Pujols and Holliday with runners on. So much for putting them into spots where they can succeed to build up their confidence.

Well we saw what Masset and Lincoln could do...looks like we are down to Rhodes, Cordero, and Owings to do something decent.

A quality start by Cueto flushed down the toilet as the Cards post a 4-spot while batting around in the top of the 7th.

Two outs on three pitches to start the bottom of the 7th and Gomes swings at the first pitch. That's some smart baseball there.

Can we roll over and play dead any better here boys? Holy crap on a cracker...

I feel like such a complete fool for drinking the kool aid yet again. When does Buckeyes football start?

Nick Masset looked great in the 8th halving his ERA on the year - from 45.00 to 22.50.

Cards have a righthander coming on. Francisco might ph for Masset. Tony "how long can i make a 6-2 game last" Larussa might have something to say about that.

Nope. Nix on to PH for Masset.

Rally Time as Hernandez raps a leadoff double that rolls all the way to the wall.
Nix looks at a called third strike. Nice having him on the club.
Stubbs swings at ball up high for strike two and then whiffs on the next pitch.
Cabrera has an RBI double down the line that plates Hernandez. 6-3 bad guys.

There's nothing worse than second guessing and nobody second guesses like members of red zoan. Nobody complained about Baker bringing in Ondrusek until AFTER he imploaded.

Yeah, no real criticism deserved for Baker on that decision. 10 scoreless in spring, looked great Monday. I probably would have went with him, too.

That's it. 6-3. Considering the Reds just faced 2 of the best 3 pitchers in baseball, it can only get easier from here.

Second guessing is the essence of baseball. The pace of play allows examination of what has just transpired. So there can be no discussion whatsoever about a play after it has transpired unless something positive is said?
