I'm here to eat some crow. I originally posted the "4 issues I have with Dusty" thread. #4 was swapping Arroyo's start from Wednesday to Thursday's day game. Arroyo pitching today was the right choice.

So now I only have 3 issues. :D

I was wondering how many crow eaters would present themselves here.

Imagine where the team will be if Bronson has two good half seasons instead of just one.

Arroyo would be absolute stud if he finds a way to weed out his bad streaks here and there.

Lets hope for that this season!

Best ERA in majors last year after July 10 (2.07).

I really hope they re-sign him. I feel like he really mixes things up for the opposition, gives them a different look. Which is important.

Great game by Bronson. Too bad he couldn't get the W.

What does everyone think about his injury? If he can't go, who would pitch Tuesday? Chapman? Wood? McClure?

I am going to be in Toledo on Sunday and already bought tickets to see Chapman pitch. I will be PO'd if he doesn't pitch Sunday. Waste of 30 bucks.

Awesome outing by Bronson. Agreed, I wish he could have gotten the win.

What does Arroyo have to do, to prove his value? Innings pitched. Consistent record year after year. Yes, he has his spells, but they always come in the 1st half of the season. If the Reds are still in the hunt in August, somebody tell me who they'd rather have on the mound in a critical game? Arroyo thrives on Drama and Pressure. If the Reds aren't in it, you can bet the Bank teams who still are, will come calling. What I find weird is, he seems to like playing here. (What a trade. Wily mo for Arroyo)..........

WLW Sportstalk said tonight that Bronson has pitched 13 consecutive games of 7 innings or more while giving up 3 runs or less. Last pitcher to do it was in '02 (can't remember who they said it was), and then Randy Johnson pitched 14 in '99.

Looks like Bronson is our ace.

Back from the game. Kudos to Bronson on his 1000th strike out. Down 3-0 on Pujols and he didn't back down. I wish he would have but he kept after him. Well pitched ballgame by both starters. Cold and breezy but enjoyable.

None of the three starters have been horrible, but Arroyo was exceptional today.

Gomes paid off today. I was thinking today as I was driving home, is there a more dangerous hitter in the 7th spot in the majors? Maybe not. I hope he gets the most time in LF.

I would love to see us keep and/or extend Arroyo. He is one guy worth $10M+ per season IMO. He hasn't missed a game - I don't believe - EVER.

With a staff full of young guns, he would be invaluable.

As much as I'd love to go with:

Cueto
Volquez
Bailey
Chapman
Leake

That's still a lot of IF's, and who is your #1?!?!

Wouldn't it be nice to know you can pencil in Arroyo for 200+IP and 32+ starts?

Arroyo
Cueto
Bailey
Leake
Chapman

Volquez or one of the guys above packaged for a REAL LF-er/SS/Catcher?

I want to sit here and believe arroyo will be just fine for his next start!.

But he said himself he is actually a bit concerned about his start.

Got my fingers crossed.

I love me some Bunny Arroyo. This has to be the best run of his career. 13 quality starts in a row for Arroyo, the most for the Reds since Jose Rijo in 1993. Hopefully he can stay healthy, because he is as close as we have to a 'stopper'.
