2 bb's from Frazier is nice to see... Struggled a bit out of the gate, but if you keep your eye, and don't press, you'll bounce back quickly enough...

Maloney should be with the Reds.

I don't think you're going to have to wait very long to see this.

Unless one of the 5 starters fall completely on their faces and have back to back to back awful games and maybe then some, i doubt you will see anyone in AAA getting a start in the majors.

That all changes if someone gets injured.

Really lovethe start Valaika has gotten off to- hope he keeps it up -a big bounce back year would be great news.

i was very suprised he was sent back to AAA. i'm not sure he has anything to prove or gain by pitching in AAA.

Trade value. He's upping his stock with teams like Cleveland, KC, NY Mets, SD etc. It's good for him and potentially good for the Reds

My stat of the day - Matt Maloney so far has induced 70% of his balls in play to be on the ground. Last year in AAA it was 42%. Lets hope he keeps it up (to an extent, he won't keep it at 70%, that is better than Brandon Webb).

Maloney is durable (so long as he's beaten the blister problem), consistent and seemingly making small improvements each year. Very viable depth.

If he can keep up anything like this stat, he'll be in Cinti soon, in some role. We won't be able to afford not to have him in the majors.

Didn't he mention last year that he was learning a sinker?

A sinkerball Matt Maloney. A guy that induces GB's and can get you 6-7 K's in a game.

VALUE.

Maloney with a sinker and good GB rates would be awesome.

If the current trend continues and Harang has to leave the rotation, I think that Maloney is the best candidate to replace him. Not because he's the best pitcher of the bunch at AAA--I'm really not sure who that would be--but because he best fits the profile. What they need from Harang's spot is innings. You can't count on Bailey and Cueto for a lot of innings, and it's too early to say about Leake--plus, you don't want to overwork a kid just out of college. The only other AAA pitcher who can rival Maloney in the innings department might be Lehr. But Maloney has a good chance to be more effective than Lehr. Plus, he's left-handed.

If Harang leaves the rotation, he'd be an awesome set-up middle reliever. Might even be enough of a difference in that spot to earn most of his salary, in fact. (Though he'd have to be truly dominating to do that.)

I could get behind a Maloney to the rotaton (assuming the sinker is for real) and Harang to the pen move.
