Klinker and Fairel- my top two candidates for an early-season promotion going tonight. Looking forward to it.
Meanwhile, Frazier and Francisco both sitting for the Bats?
LeCure get 'em 1-2-3 in the first. 2 K
On Carlos Santana he put a fastball under his chin and on the next pitch, struck him out with a ball low and away.
:D
Two more Ks for LeCure in the 2nd.
0-0 going to the bottom of the 2nd
No hits for either team after 2 complete.
Carolina up 1-0 in the 3rd
Lynchburg up 3-0 in the 1st
Dayton up 2-0 in the 3rd
LeCure still perfect after 3

Heisey hits a three run HR, his third of the season. 3-0 bats.
Hopefully Heisey continues to heat up and forces the Reds once and for all to either trade him or Stubbs as part of a package for some value.

Heisey may replace Stubbs on the big league club if Stubbs doesn't pick it up soon
Everyone in the Lynchburg lineup has a hit tonight. Fellhauer and Sappelt have three. Hillcats lead 9-4 going into the 9th. Jordan Hotchkiss is still perfect (earned-run-wise) on the season.

There's a few guy breathing in Louisville. And a few they should poke with a stick.
It seems, in particular, that a lot of the guys who were late cuts--Francisco, Sutton, Balentien, Burke, Lehr--are struggling mightily. Maybe that speaks well for the efforts of Maloney, Fisher, Chapman and Wood.

How about moving Cozart and Valaika up to the top of the lineup, moving Sutton down and moving CBurke :thumbdown out the door!!!

If leCure isn't careful, he's gonna make himself valuable.

We need Lecure for what ails us. Great game he pitched tonight, and he looked poised and in control the few innings I got to see him on the mound in Arizona this spring.
He's often overlooked amidst all the hype surrounding Chapman, Leake and company, but this kid is a gamer, he's got stuff, and he's aiming to prove something. Hope he gets his shot with the Reds, and if not, then somewhere else -- and shame on them.

IMHO Sam Lecure has always been underrated by members of this forum.

Agree 100%. He'll be a major league pitcher somewhere, as either a starter or bullpen guy. I couldn't believe it last year when he'd sometimes get left off people's lists of guys who needed protection on the 40 man roster. In fact, it's interesting to think just how different the Reds' rotation might be in a year than anything RZers have been talking about. It's possible it could be TOR guy from outside, Chapman, Leake, Maloney, Wood, Lecure. It's no longer clear to me that Bailey, Cueto, Volquez, Harang, Arroyo are necessarily better than that group.
