Why is Gomes still playing defense? late inning leads, he should be replaced by Dickerson, every time.

Left field defense doesn't matter.

With this many pitching changes, you'd think Dusty would have been compelled to double switch at some point.

The Reds may just lose this one yet.

Hey Reds FO -- this past winter you didn't make one move to bolster your bullpen. You assumed everyone would be the same or better. You never replaced David Weathers.

You now see the result.

Relievers are important. Starters don't pitch 8 or 9 innings anymore. You need an effective and deep bullpen.

Did we learn anything tonight? That this year's Homer is no relation to the Homer of late-season 2009. Scott Rolen is important to have around. Nick Massett is simply throwing batting practice this year. Drew Stubbs needs to sit for awhile or go back to AAA to regain his magic from late 2009. Joey Votto is Vottomatic. Good stuff and bad stuff, but a victory, the first in 6 tries and all is forgiven.

Looks like from the box score they (rightfully) changed their minds on that and did not give Homer an RBI. So he had a win and an RBI taken away from him.

Masset needs to get his breaking ball over for a strike every now and then. They're sitting on the fastball. His stuff is still outstanding, but he doesn't have the secondary stuff harnassed enough.

Bruce looking better and better. That leadoff walk in the 9th was a great AB.

The trial of Drew Stubbs has begun. Bruce went through some horrific stretches too, and he's coming out of it now. How much of a leash will Stubbs get? With Dickerson in the wings, and the team desperate for a good start, I'm guessing the leash will not be long....
