I can't recall a series that's EVER been this lopsided before.

Game 1: Brewers win 8-1
Game 2: Brewers win 8-0
Game 3: Brewers win 20-0

Holy crap. Makes me feel not quite so bad about our recent play.

Anybody ever recall a more screwy series?

"Go back to the basement!" the Brewers proclaimed.

And didn't the Reds have a series like that in 04 against the A's?

I think this was meant to make me feel better, but it only reminds me that we got swept by the team that is getting murdered here.

"At least we aren't the Pirates" Reds slogan since 2001.

I vaguely remember that, had to look it up.

Game 1: A's 13 Reds 2
Game 2: A's 10 Reds 6 note: Arthur Rhodes got the save for Oakland. :O)
Game 3: A's 17 Reds 8

At least the Reds scored some runs in that series. I think the Pirate smackdown is worse.

Pirates expected W-L is now 3-11 and have allowed 18 runs more than anybody else.

Series like this happen across baseball. Its the nature of playing 162 games over the course of a season. Even the Pirates and Royals will sweep a series or two. Sometimes they sweep good teams. IIRC years ago with Lou as Tampa Bay's manager when they were lowly they had the Yankees number.

And the sad thing is they held the Reds to only 10 runs in three games.

The Pirates brought in their closer today down by 15 ... a guy coming off arm problems no less. Can you imagine if Dusty did that with Cordero?

The Brewers certainly got untracked this week. That team should be fun to watch this season (which it has been for the past few years as well). In particular, Ryan Braun may be entering superstar territory.

Wow, that is crazy and a whole lot of runs!

I'm probably being naive but I'm not crucifying the guys for the Pittsburgh series. For one, they didn't get blown out in any of those games. Two, Joey and Scott Rolen were both out in that first game and then Scott ended up missing the entire series so they weren't at full strength. Rolen being out makes a big difference to that offense. I just can't be that frustrated about a series where the guys were running on fumes from a rough Florida series and other ones were banged up or getting over being sick. If this was later in the season I'd be more upset but it's still April which is too early to panic over one series sweep.

That some serious lumber and pitching. 36-1 is about as dominant as you can get. I betcha the Reds pitchers were frantically looking at the schedule to see when the Brewers are on it. Not until May 17th. They have some time to cool off.

See Heathers' post above. I agree 100%. Toss in "road series" and "spent bullpen" to that list.
