Dickerson wiffs. 1 out

I feel lonely in here tonight

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:21 PM
After the first inning, Bronson Arroyo has pitched 21 innings. He has given up runs in just four of those 21. Unfortunately, there has been a 4-spot and a 5-spot mixed in there.
I feel a win coming on.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:22 PM
Cabrera grounds out in 10 pitch AB

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:23 PM
I wonder if I should start my Swing-and-a-Miss-ometer? 1 batter so far for the Reds, one swing-and-a-miss. Joey Votto comes up with two outs and the bases empty.....AGAIN!!

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:24 PM
Why would Votto ever get a pitch to hit with Phillips up behind him? Votto walks.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:25 PM
That Padre starter seems to be channeling Reds' starters at this point.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:27 PM
Votto walks

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:28 PM
Phillips wiffs. But Correia throws 25 pitches

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:28 PM
Phillips moves the SAAM-ometer another notch and it now stands at 2.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:29 PM
I am placing the SAAM over/under at 7 1/2 (called third strikes do not move the meter).

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:30 PM
Let's see what John Fay has to say tonight.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:30 PM
Headly singles up the middle

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:31 PM
Leadoff single for Chase Headley.

04-23-2010, 07:31 PM
LOL @ Marty..." take what Kiper says with a grain of salt" hahah

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:34 PM
Harang, for now, will not be skipped in the rotation. He is scheduled to go on Tuesday in Houston.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:34 PM
Please skip Harang in the rotation

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:35 PM
double for venable

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:35 PM
Rocket to right by Venable and they runners at 2nd and 3rd with nobody down.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:36 PM
Stairs with a double. 2-0 Arroyo throwing bp

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:36 PM
Matt Stairs doubles to the wall in right and the Reds trail (yawn) 2 zip.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:37 PM
Fay feels if Maloney hadn't developed a blister he could well be in the rotation now.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:38 PM
Ground ball for the first out, Stairs moves on to third.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:39 PM
Gwynn killed that one...Arroyo sucks

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:40 PM
Two-run dinger and the Reds trail 4 zip and I believe I heard some boobirds out.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:40 PM
Pitcher lines to Stubbs for the second out.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:41 PM
Tony Gwynn, Jr. had a grand total of 3 homers in 666 at-bats before taking Arroyo deep.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:42 PM
Another huge inning by Bronson.

TheBigLebowski
04-23-2010, 07:42 PM
16 games into this season, one I had looked forward to more than any recent one, and I am almost ready to throw in the towel. This team is garbage.

And did Bronson just get taken 450 feet out of the yard by Tony Freaking Gwynn Jr? Really?

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:42 PM
Anyway Leake can pitch everynight? lol

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:43 PM
nice play by Phillips

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:43 PM
Nice play by Phillips to retire the side. Arroyo doing what Reds starters have down pat - 41 pitches through 2. No rest for that weary bullpen tonight.

muddie
04-23-2010, 07:43 PM
I'm now thinking we're a year early in our anticipation of any real success.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:44 PM
That blast probably just about doubled Tony Gwynn, Jr's. previous hardest hit ball.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:45 PM
Bengals have some nice options in the second round...who will it be?

redsfan_12

Ditto

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:46 PM
This is no fun. The games last forever and the team is awful. I have no idea why I listen anymore. It is a disease.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:47 PM
Rolen grounds to SS

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:47 PM
There is only one person on this planet that thinks Phillips should be batting cleanup. Unfortunately, that person has a fondness for toothpicks.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:48 PM
Bengals take Carlos Dunlap, defensive end from Florida, with their second pick.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:48 PM
bruce with a screamer to 2nd..2 out

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:49 PM
Once again Bruce hits the ball hard and ends up with nothing to show for it.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:50 PM
Right down the middle and Stubbs looks at it

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:51 PM
Stubbs K's but it doesn't move the meter as it was a called third strike. Successful inning for the Reds in the sense that the SAAM-ometer didn't budge.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:52 PM
I am thinking Stubbs bet on the under and that is why he didn't swing as there was a very good chance if he swung he would have missed.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:52 PM

He didnt hit that one very hard.

The NFL Draft is more exciting.

texasdave

My apologies, I thought I read it was a screamer. I must have missed the sarcasm.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:55 PM
base hit Hairston Jr.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:56 PM

Haha sorry. Just an old Bob Uecker quote from Major League

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:56 PM
Remember way back in Spring Training when the talk was which of the excess starters should be traded for a bat? =) Ooops!

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:58 PM
Harang and/or Arroyo

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 07:59 PM
Gonzales flies out to Bruce. Hairston tags up

TheBigLebowski
04-23-2010, 07:59 PM
The draft is a much better investment of time than this dreck. Bengals just made an awesome selection in the 2nd.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 07:59 PM
Hairston tags on a foul ball down the RF line. Gutsy move considering Bruce's arm.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:00 PM
Grounder to Phillips for the second time as the runner scoots over to third.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 08:01 PM
If I was a bettin man, Venable will get this run in.

TheBigLebowski
04-23-2010, 08:01 PM
Just fwiw, we all give Brook Jacoby hell for what he has (or has not) done with our hitters. When does Bryan Price start to get some guff?

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:01 PM
I am not saying I am old but I remember when a defensive lineman weighed 250 he was huge. LOL.

cbowen2112
04-23-2010, 08:02 PM
I am not saying I am old but I remember when a defensive lineman weighed 250 he was huge. LOL.

Some would call that a small LB now! lol

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:03 PM
I think you have to give Price more than 16 games.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 08:04 PM
How are these guys laying off such good pitches? hahahah

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:04 PM
Arroyo up to 66 pitches. Max innings is about 6 tonight. The bullpen will be fried by June 1st.

TheBigLebowski
04-23-2010, 08:07 PM
I think you have to give Price more than 16 games.

Not saying fire him. Just saying that, so far, as excited as we all were when he was hired, the results have been ridiculously disappointing. Course, Jacoby's been useless his entire career here and he remains gainfully employed.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 08:07 PM
Wow..Arroyo gets out of it

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:08 PM
Rolen guns down Stairs and no damage is done in the top of the third.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:08 PM
69 pitches through three. That is about par for the Reds' rotation course.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:11 PM
This year's starters are making me yearn for some pitch-to-contact. If you are gonna get hammered it shouldn't take 3 1/2 hours every night.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:13 PM
This guy's fastball just barely touches 90 and the Reds are still looking for their first hit on the night.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 08:14 PM
nice inning guys..2 dribblers and big shocker!..Dickerson Ks

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:15 PM
Another called third as the SAAM-ometer is getting dusty. Reds out in the bottom of the third.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:16 PM
Someone wake me when the Reds get a hit, err, get a baserunner of any kind.

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 08:17 PM
leadoff hit for Hundley..and so it begins again...

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:17 PM
Padres leadoff runner singles.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:17 PM
Correia isn't overpowering, he isn't throwing an overwhelming amount of strikes and all his pitches are about the same speed. =(

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:18 PM
An infield single on a diving stop by BP. Two on, none down.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:19 PM
Looking forward to the next laundry break.

TheBigLebowski
04-23-2010, 08:19 PM

3-2..hes gonna walk the pitcher trying to bunt

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:22 PM
If he walks the pitcher it is game over...for me. The pitcher is trying to make an out.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:22 PM
Boo!!

redsfan_12
04-23-2010, 08:22 PM
un-freaking- believeable..walks the pitcher trying to bunt

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:22 PM
Bases loaded, nobody out.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:23 PM
Nobody out in the top of the fourth and the next pitch for Arroyo will be his 80th.

texasdave
04-23-2010, 08:23 PM
Throw some freakin' strikes!!

TheBigLebowski
04-23-2010, 08:29 PM
I wonder if, perhaps, Castellini can pull an Art Modell, move the team somewhere and then we can start fresh with a new owner and a fresh franchise. I can't take much more of this crap. I'm 33 and I've been a Reds fan since the first day I watched baseball. I can honestly say I have almost no interest in watching this crap anymore. And with each passing game that interest level dissipates even more.

The Reds have something going for the first time tonight and they send up Miguel Freakin Cairo. And he grounds out to end the threat. That was so unexpected. Why is he even on the team? Oh yeah, Dusty loves him some veteran creaminess.

I don't even care anymore. I was just upset that Correia lost the no-no.

This one, decidedly, does not belong to the Reds.

texasdave

Take the RBI leader out of the lineup?

Janish should play 3rd though when Rolen is out.
