This feeling of just hoping we dont get swept by the cards this weekend.

Coming off a great week of baseball. And setting ourselves to make up some serious ground on the dominating cards so far.

But i just cant find the confidence. This is about as big of a series as it gets this early in the season. We have a chance to come within 1 game of the cards. Or disaster strikes and we get knocked back down in the bottom of the barrell for the division. Huge momentum swing is up for grabs.

Help me have some Redlegs Spirit! :redszone:

It is pretty bad when you feel the safest starting your rookie pitcher. I have faith though that Leakes attitude and enthusiasm will rub off onto the rest of the players.

Well, tonight will be tough. Penny has been near perfect. But maybe he's due to fail.

You can't kick it/fight it, its just something you have to accept being a reds fan with their past few seasons. Its always 1 step forward 2 steps back. I am as nervous as you are about this series, not gonna lie I will be satisfied with 1 of 3.

Maybe a little REO Speedwagon will help you out....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYoh_sV35eA

Oswalt had been eating our lunch pretty regular, too.......until the other night. Penny will eventually get roughed up, might as well be by us - might as well be tonight. !!

I have the same feeling about this series. With the Harang vs. Carpenter matchup on Sunday you basically feel like they've already lost a game in the series. Hopefully they can get the first game tonight, and then Bailey vs. Lohse seems to favor the Reds if he can put together a full start without a rough beginning to the game. Who knows though, half the time you worry about a pitching matchup, and it ends up being a bullpen game.

Same thing Ive been thinking. Everytime we go on a 3,4,5 game winning streak, we turn right around and lose that many. Honestly, I'll be happy with just 1 win in this series.

sounds like the series may be a total rainout as it is....

Not to mention we get the mets after the cardinals. Playing the 2 hottest teams in the nl in one week is rough. Hopefully we can hang tough but this next week has a chance of being really disasterous.

I'd be willing to wager the Reds don't lose tonight. Especially after reading the weather forecast for St. Louis this evening.

Tonight
Occasional showers and thunderstorms in the evening... then showers and thunderstorms likely after midnight. Storms may be severe with damaging winds...large hail and tornadoes in the evening. Low in the lower 60s. South wind 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Like Welch always says, win that first series game on the road, you avoid getting swept and the team can relax a little.

Im feeling a lot better. ! :beerme:

Stayed up till the last pitch. What a game.

Yes btw talk about a home field advantage. Im willing to bet if the cards were winning they would have called that one.
