I hate Sat day games.

Here on the west coast, we don't get a game on Fox until 1 pm PST, but we can't watch the games that start at 10 am PST. Not even on MLB.com.

I can watch it on my phone though, where its tiny and around 10 seconds behind the audio broadcast on my computer.
Makes no sense

The Reds are REALLY good at going first to third on the base hit to left. There have been some pickoffs, but the basrunning has been good this season.

With the exception of the two games against San Diego (IIRC), the baserunning has been very fun to watch. Few mistakes, a few outs, but, for the most part, smart and aggressive. Perhaps the most improved part of the Red game thus far this season.

The 18th different lineup for LaRussa this year, according to Fox Cincinnati. How Redszone would loathe him.

_Sir_Charles_

Homer needs to trust his defense and throw strikes. No nibbling!

Lohse is absolutely on fire right now. He's spotting his fastball with pinpoint control on the black and with his velo/movement, it's a nearly unhittable pitch.

Caught the corner according to gameday. I love seeing umps call the corners, but especially the upper corners; so few do it reliably.

I just don't get this mentality. 100 pitches is NOT a magic number. Bailey is the type of pitcher who gets stronger as the game goes on. He's big and athletic. His pitch count is NOT the same as Cueto's or other pitchers. He's not laboring, is he?

I agree. The issue for me is that Dusty will let Homer throw 110 on days where he's laboring to get through 5. Days like this should be the exception where you let him go, but there seems to be no good time in Dusty's eyes to not push him to the edge of fatigue.

Yes. Yes I did. He, out of all the pitchers in the pen, had the best stuff to get him out. He'd pitched him VERY well all day...even in that AB up to that last pitch.

It doesn't matter WHAT pitcher you have in there, it's Pujols...everybody's playing with fire. Homer wasn't gassed. Pujols was just better when Homer missed his location in the zone.

Now if you want to say we should've pulled him because another pitcher had a better chance to get him out...I'd listen. But when your reasoning is based on him throwing 115 versus 110 or versus 113 or whatever...I just don't buy it. If the pitcher is tired and starts to lose his mechanics...yeah, there's an injury risk increase. But not every pitcher gets gassed at the same pitch count. Set pitch counts are WAAAAAAY overblown IMO.
