The only hits for the Mets were a two-out single by Keith Hernandez followed by a two-run homer by Gary Carter in the sixth, a leadoff single by Danny Heep in the seventh, and a one-out single by Lenny Dykstra in the eighth. Pete Rose was 1-for-1 with two walks, a hit-by-pitch, an RBI, and two runs scored.
