Friday night Aaron Harang will make his 201st start as a Red, his 200th start earlier this week placed him in a pretty select group of guys who have started 200 games for the Reds, there are 134 pitchers from the original 8 NL teams who have logged 200 starts for one team, some teams like the Reds have 20 or more pitchers who have achieved the feat, others like the Phillies (8) and Cardinals (10) have fewer.

It can't really be attached to anything other than the fact that players will likely move too often to join the lists of their respective teams.

Below is the top 23 players in games started by Reds pitchers all time prior to this year

Of the 22 guys above 44% not home grown, 28% achieved the feat under the age of 30. Only Browning was statistically below average, only Harang and Ken Raffensberg have winning percentages below .500

Seven of them were lefthanders, amazingly Rixey started 196 games for the Phillies too.

Interesting. A few thoughts:

I didn't realize Browning ranked that highly. Only needed 2 more for 300!

Eppa Rixey didn't start pitching for the Reds till he was 30.

Harang's got a shot at Soto and the top 15 this year.
