Well, you give up a batter to "move the runner over" and the left handed reliever gets Rolen (2-26 against ) and Bruce quickly. Two things:

1. I hate 1960's baseball in the 21st Century
2. Jay Bruce is woefully inadequate against left handed pitching.

They lost tonight. I'm okay with it though. The fight this team has and the ability to come back time and time again is stunning. On one hand, I look at it as a negative because what happens if the magic runs out? But I think the Reds have a very realistic chance to improve as we start to head into June where they can win more games in a "normal" fashion. From what I'v observed, to a man, every player really seems to care on this team. I think a lot of that is coming from Rolen and Cabrera. The team just has so much fight. Hopefully it continues all summer and into the fall months.

This team is more fun to watch than any in recent memory. The fighting spirit they have is a blast to watch. Along those lines, I think Mr. Gomes would make a good manager some day. The few opportunities I've had to hear him talk strategy, he knows his stuff; on top of that his players would run through a brick wall for him.

Last night was a toughy but it looks like Leake versus Heyward today...how sweet will that be to watch?

Rookie of the year battle #1.

How come everyone seems to be overlooking the guy who SHOULD be the front runner right now. Jaime Garcia from St. Louis. His numbers are staggering.

Garcia is gonna come down to earth especially during the pennant run when the Cards are going to tank under the pressure of trying to keep up with the Reds.

I think he'll come down to earth too. But right now...he should be the front runner IMO.
